ACE can say anything they want...however they are NOT capable of doing anything...they cant do anything to your SSN or your drivers license. Debts are civil, not criminal.

the loan was made on the internet, but there is a store here in town.

Here is what they CAN do, not necessarily will do...

1. They can call you, your references and your work numbers

2. They can go to your home and work

3. They can report you to Teletrack and SCAN if they use those services. This would be the SS and DL reporting.

4. They can "assign" your wages if you signed a Wage Assignment. This is voluntary and can be revoked.

5. They can take you to small claims and then get a garnishment if you state allow it.

These are the basics and not all companies will do.

Can they do the above because they have a storefront there or can ipdl's also do this?

ACE Cash Express is a CSO and they are legally licensed to issue loans to texas residents.


I defaulted on a loan to. I called them up and they WERE willing to work with me. They didn't try to gouge me for any crazy charges, just the amount of the loan plus the interest I had agreed to.


The gentlemen told me I could go in to a storefront over 4 weeks and make payments to satisfy the loan. He was stern, but polite. So was I. I plan to make good on my end. If the ace collection agent you spoke to was unwilling to assist, I suggest you call their offices and try again. Maybe it depends on who you speak with, but the collection person who called me was more than willing to work with me..

That said, most Ipdls are NOT LEGAL. You have to investigate.

IPDL's are illegal in my state (KY), but I had one with them. They called today and wanted to settle a $300 loan for over $500 - I quoted the state laws to them and disconnected the call!

ACE is a CSO, different from most Ipd's. They can bring civil suit against you if you fail to pay.

Ace Cash Services - What is a CSO? Is this company a IPDL or a CSO? I reside in KY.

If your loan was from Ace Cash services they are illegal and you are responsible for only paying what you borrowed. They cannot do much except harrass you.
