My husband has received yet another threatening call. In this one they stated that he will do jail time because he wrote a hot check, which is illegal. Should we worry, or are they simply trying to scare him into paying them the full amount immediately?

No, owing a debt is a civil matter, not a criminal one.

Ok then they can seek legal action in civil court for the unpaid loan. Some storefronts may offer a payment arrangement resolution before that happens though. Have you tried to speak to a store manager about an extended payment plan of some sort?

well then,file complaints against this CA as they can't and won't have you arrested.they can't even sue as that is up to the loan place.now was this assigned or sold?if assigned then talk to the loan place and try to work something out.if sold then yes file complaints.

my husband keeps receiving calls from this lady at HPC and keeps saying that she needs to inform him of his rights. My question is what rights does he need to be informed of? She keeps calling 3 times within a five minute period.
