i had a payday loan with ACE Cash. I defaulted on the loan b/c I lost my job and called them to make payment arrangements. They told me that I could not make any arrangements until my check went through. The total ammount was $966. They then called me and I made a payment arrangment to make $300. I made a $300 payment as planned and asked to make another payment on my new pay day, which would have been 30 days out. They told me that they could not hold it this long and that someone from another department would contact me. I received a message stating that my check was being forwared for legal actiona nd that I should contact them immediately. I did. He asked for payment in full and I told him that I could not make it . He asked for a good faith payment to hold my account until Aug. 20th with a settlement of $665. I told him that I could pay half on 8/20 and the balance on 8/31. I tried to get help from family and friends but I have been tapped out after losing my job and thye have helped with everything from food, to rent, to carnote already. He told me that he could not hold the account. Today (Aug.19th), he called to remind me to keep my appt. I told him that I thought he had already sent my case on. He became very rude and I explained that I could not pay the balance in full on 8/20. He transferred the phone to someone else who told me that they will contact my new employer, my immediate supervisor, b/c I passed a bad check and she will not let me get away with it. Is this true? Can they legally contact my immediate supervisor at my new job? I am in texas....please help.
