I have posted about Ace Cash Express before, but I just wanted to say again how extremely bad they are. First it isn't good to take out a payday loan, just because you can never get caught back up when you do that. We took one out because we got shorted overtime on my husband's pay check and had no choice. But once you get in that cycle, you can not get out. The only way that I have found to get out is to stop making payments, let it hit your bank and then start making payments on the principal and late fees and overdraft. You can make smaller payments and get it paid off, but at least you aren't having to refinance all the time and never start touching the principal. We FINALLY got ours settled and taken care of and I do NOT ever want to deal with them again. But what do you do when you are in this cycle? How do you stay out?

We have a weekly contest running in debtcc, where everyweek one question is asked to the community and the members respond to it. The last week's question was "what are the alternatives of a pdl?" I think you can learn some ideas form the experiences shared by the other members :D

Here is the link to the page: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/qow/winner.php

Hope you'll find it useful. Staying out of pdls only needs some decipline on your part and the practise of livng within the means.

Thanks. My husband and I made a promise to each other that we would not take out another PDL since we have gotten this one paid off. It is jsut nerve wracking dealing with these people. I imagine myself as a dead animal lying on the side of the road and the birds flying over (PDLs) swooping in for the kill...ha ha ha
