PLEASE HELP IN A WIERD SITUATION WITH PDL - ace cash express

Well, this is a long story but i will try to make this breif i currently work for a pdl comp i have for a yr and a half now. Anyway i took out a loan with ace cash express. I had a really good payment history with them and then on my last loan i got i got it to help out a friend which of course was not able to pay me back, so i wasnt able to pay it. Well when they kept calling they kept wanting the total they didnt want to set up arrangements so i just never paid. Well anyway now 6 months later they are calling my job telling me to seek legal counsel because i have a hot check and that they are going to call my supervisors and get me fired, they called me 4 times at work today and kept saying we know your sups names and numbers and gave me all their names and once the guy even said i have (my ups name) on the other line iand am speaking with them right now about you. They said that if i dont pay i will loose my job becuase our company i work for uses the same lender. Then later today i received a call from another store where they called and gave out my personal info. The other store called and said hey do you have a loan with ace that you didnt pay i said what? She said theyjust called here and said they are doing an investigation on you and asked for out supervisor and said that you owe them money. I was sooo mad i called them back and the guy said i didnt call them and say anything and if i did ma'am you should have paid you need to seek legal advice again i offered to pay on it and they guy said all or none for me to keep my money. Even at one point told me someone would be at my job immediately. I am sorry for going on and on. I just dont know what to do i dont want to loose my job i am a single mother of 2 please help


To Katpup,

First of all stop panicking. It will not lead you to anywhere and you will make wrong decisions due to haste.

Now, let me tell you that different states have separate laws regarding PDLs. So, check whether payday loan is legal in your state or not. You can also tell us where you stay so that we can find out the legalities associated with PDLs in your state.

Hello katpup and welcome to the community! If you work for a pdl company then you are aware of the consequences if you don't stay in contact with them. You should also be aware of the EPP available if ACE Cash is a member of the CSFA. As phoenix posted, we need to know what state you reside in before we can offer any advice. :D

Hello Katpup,
I had a storefront PDL with Ace Cash and did a "payment arrangement plan" for 4 to 5 equal payments untill the balance was satisfied. The CS there simply told me I could do one once a year and it broke my payments down to $145 each on a check of $575. I did not default, simply wanted to not rewrite to get my own money back every payday. So there is hope with ACE Cash. They are members of the FISCA so I do not know about the EPP program. I do know they did a payment arrangement for me, it was even stated in my contract. :D I live in VA by the way. Best of luck!!
