i am sorry that is happening to you, i have been through every bit of it, and i still owe on 2. i have been told you cannot be arrested, that is their scare tactic, be calm, it will be ok, if they donot work with you, they donot want their payment too bad. someone will find out for sure the texas laws, i am also in texas, and i never knew the laws, but i only did what i could, that is all you can do. good luck,

Store fronts are usually licensed and legal. Texas also has companies operating as CSO's. In my opinion, store fronts can and will file charges against you, its in your best interest to make payment arrangements with them if they are willing to work with you. I am not trying to scare you but you could end up in court if you do not take care of these store front loans.
Pressing Charges
I think that mostly you are right in saying that the Pay Day loan place cannot press charges. However, the bank you have your account with might press charges for the return check fees or overdrafts oon the account due to the bounced checks. If the bank files charges, then you may expect to hear from the Men in Black. You might want to call your bank to verify default status and negotioate a payment option. just a thought. Someone let me know if this sounds accurate.
