Disputing ACH withdrawals by illegal PDLs with your bank?

I, like many of you, also got in over my head with some pdl's over the last year. I live in the state of Virginia and I had taken out two loans with internet companies: Payday-Loan-Yes and Paycheck Today. After reading the advice from many of you on how to deal with illegal internet lenders, I sent each company a cease and desist, closed my bank account with a hard block on ANY attempts to ACH debit, and opened a new account, and sent complaints to the Virginia Bureau of Finance, the Attorney Generals for each company, the BBB for each company, and the FTC. The BBB is investigating both and I also got letters in the mail from the AG's for both companies stating they are investigating, but no outcome yet. I have not heard from either payday loan company yet and it has been over two weeks (my Payday-Loan-Yes should be PIF and I am $50 away from paying the principal balance for my Paycheck Today loan).
I have overpaid these two companies with my past loans with them, by $1175 for Paycheck Today and $1250 for Payday-Loan-Yes (I am trying to get a refund only for the overpayment but am not asking for a refund of the principal balance of the loan because I ofcourse have no problem paying that portion back). The loss department of my bank (wachovia) reccommended filling out ACH dispute forms for the "fraudulent" charges by these two companies. Has anyone had any luck with their personal banks in filling out the dispute paperwork for all ACH debits that led to the overpayment to these companies? Or will this be a sticky situation?
Thanks in advance, and a BIG thanks to all the advice on these postings :) You all are wonderful !!

Yes I have and recovered the disputed amounts. As long as you gave them (in writing) a copy of the ACH revocations to the lenders in question, you should receive all refunds due to you that occured after the date of the revocation letter.

Thank you for your quick response :) Unfortunately, I just recently figured out that these two companies are not licensed to lend to virginia residents, so I never revoked any ACH withdrawals with these companies with my previous two loans (the loans that were grossly overpaid). So will I not be able to dispute/recover the overpayment of the last two loans that were overpaid? Fortuntely, since I sent my revocation letter to the PDL's, I have not been debited any further !
