The only form they told me about was a Stop Payment form. I then called the bank's processing dept. and they said not to worry about the lenders getting money out of the old account, which is closed, and they also said not to worry about them getting my new account info.
I don't feel good about this.

I would suggest you talk to your bank and confirm that they have put a "hard stop" on all electronic debits. Many banks will say your account is closed and not to worry, but when the electronic debit hits, they will reopen it and charge you with bounced check fees. I would confirm with your bank again to be clear, and if you can get it in writing, thats the best.

I agree with cashmullah, get something in writing from your bank stating your old account has a hard stop from any activity to it and your new account won't be debited or affected in any way.
If they won't give it to you in writing, sorry, but you may want to just change banks to be sure. Most banks are understanding but some are not.
