I just received a letter from Norman Kalina, Esq. out of New Jersey. It is a debt collection from a payday loan called Aero Advance Financial. Is Aeroadvance licensed or even legal. I am in Minnesota. Is this a letter I should be concerned about or should I just ignore it. I have gotten this letter approx. 6 months ago also then it stopped and now he sends again.

it was for aeroadvance financial a payday loan from a year or so ago. Am in Minnesota. I can't remember but I may have defaulted. They just stopped debiting my account so didn't question it and it was like they forgot about me until recently now. I did send a $50.00 Money order a couple or few months ago and then didn't hear anything as I sent them a letter saying I could only send $50.00 a month in a money order. Is Aero Advance legal? Is Kalina?

Ask them to validate the debt, tell them you would like proof that they are legally able to collect that alleged debt, and a document with your signature showing you obtained the loan, and how they came up with the amount they are collecting upon.

The reason I tell you to ask them is because you have already received a letter of collection from them via the mail, this means at that time you had a thirty day window to request debt validation in writing, but since you didn't exercise your rights at that time you are pretty much at their mercy. I would STILL ask them to validate the debt though.
