I received a call at my office today from "PSD" Process Servers Department, asking how to serve papers at my office. Actually they called my receptionist asking how to serve me papers at work. They told me I could be served at home by calling "AF Group" 888-817-2781.

I called them and I am being told it is for a debt from First Bank Delaware for $2K, and that a lawsuit has been filed against me. AF Group says they are in Califronia and have filed against me in Texas through a local attorney.

I looked up my county records and nothing is showing under my name at all, so I know nothing has been filed.

Is AF Group or PSD legit?

You need to tell the collection agency that any further contact should be made in writing, period. You have that right. Never ever admit to owing a debt to a voice on the phone, it sounds like this collection agency is trying to play hardball with you by telling you that they have a process server's department. If there is no record of an alleged court case against you, then this collection agency is obviously in non compliance with the law (FDCPA).

Yea ive received a call from these extortionists about Friday last week, just another one of those collection agency scams and scare tactics, just show no fear if you receive a call from this groups or if any several...they are violating many FTCPA laws and regulations, as well as FTC and State and local laws, debt is a civil matter not criminal, ive spoke to the DA, attorney general of Texas, and am going to make complaints on company if any do exists with the FTC and FBI which by law anyone citizen may do..I have also reffered to a debt consolidation and they will tell you that the things these unprofessional individuals did were by far against the law.Just by typing in their number you will find these blog complaints about them. If you receive any phone calls regarding this number or companies please call your local attorney general, the ftc and ftcpa. All complaints need to be written to all of the mentioned, and please by all means neccessary please do not give them any kind of information for example they will ask if you have a active checking account, where you work at?and where do you live? and if for any reason the information seems to good to be true they may have pulled a credit report from you which is against the law, no one should pull credit without your verbal or written consent, another red flag. People please be aware, i always said they would never get me and trust me they did, and my family were willing to give them a settlement, just to keep me out of trouble, dont buy into it any of this....thank you and stay safe people.......
