Just wanted to say thanks for all the great info--I am in this mess, but am trying to get myself out of it.
I currently have a loan with My Cash Now, it was originally for $600 and based on what I have paid, only have about $50.00 that I need to pay to pay off the principle. Has anyone had contact with them recently (I saw older posts)? They do have an online contact form (could not find a fax#) and mailing address for Republic of Panama. They also have the following on there website "Governing Law: All personal loans and related transactions will be deemed to have taken place in the offices of MyCashNow Inc. All transactions will be within the laws of Republic of Panama and will not differ regardless of where the client may be viewing the MyCashNow site."

FYI: I live in Alabama-and could not find them as licensed.
Thanks.
Elizabeth

lol, that is TOO funny! They can't FORCE people to follow thier frekin laws. lol! Anyway, I will see if I can find an address for them but it would be just as effective via email. Hope you have your account closed, if not, they willdrain you dry as soon as they discover you are on to them. Send them an email which states:

Please note I am not a resident of the Republic of Panama, have never prescribed to be a resident of the Republic of Panama and have no presence there, as such am not subject to the Republic of Panama laws you detail. MY state law prevails.

I found these addresses at the BBB. Please keep something in mind, if you use your employers fax to send this lender a letter, the lender will then have access to your employers fax number and WILL utilize it, but not in a good way!

Thanks- I will work on it. I have not closed my account yet-I am going to go to my bank in the next couple of days. I will wait to contact them once I have. i do currently owe (principle amount) on another loan-if I close my bank account, how do I deal with them, as far as paying them back the principle. They are not licensed in Alabama either (Intergrity Advance). Do I send them the letter and request an address to send a money order for the principle?

Read the link I gave you on how to deal with unlicensed lenders, there's a step by step guideline on how to proceed. Just make sure your bank account is closed before you tell ANY of your lenders what your intentions are.

Will do. Thanks again. Do you know if anyone has had luck receiving a refund on a loan that has been paid in full-but was overpaid? I had one with National Payday and paid the principle plus over $200 in fees. It will be paid off today-not sure if it was worth pursuing the refund?
