I currently have three pay day loans that are almost impossible for me to get paid off. What are the rules and laws in Florida. I would like very much to pay my debt but they are making it impossible. I should have never done it. thanks, Leslie In Florida

Leslie, first I am just wanted to tell you that you are not alone in the hell world of PDLs. Second, what are the names of the PDLs that you owe and the amount you borrowed. Since, you live in Florida you can go to the Office of Financial Regulation website, www.flofr.com, to find out if they are licensed. You can also go to this link, http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/illegal-pdl-dealings.html, and get some good advice.

Just keep posting and come back here for advice. There are a lot of people on this forum that have great advice.

Payday lending is legal as per the state laws of Florida. However, in order to know if your payday lenders are licensed to operate in your state, you should contact the Florida Office of Financial Regulation. If you find that they are licensed in your state, then you will be liable for paying off the debts in full. If you cannot do so, it will be better if you could consolidate or settle your debts. You can contact the local debt relief companies and take their help in this matter.
