I had a Plain Green loan that I almost paid off before closing the account.

It was sent to collections.

I just calculated that I have already paid back the principal plus some of the interest that was in the agreement.

1) I live in Texas. Is that a legal loan for Texas?

2) What is the best way to get them to agree to the fact that the principal has been paid? I would write off the interest I had already paid as a learning experience but I want to get the collections company off my back.

Plain Green is a tribal lender. They are not licensed to lend in any state in the U.S. Send the CA a cease and desist letter stating the lender is not licensed in your state therefore the loan contract is invalid and unenforceable.

File complaints against both Plain Green and the collection agency with the FTC and the TX OCCC.
