Hi I took a payday loan for 300 from targetcashnow .com. I paid 90. I also took a payday loan for 400 from hydra fund ii, paid 630. I live in RI. I aready closed my account and also sent letters. I haven't heard from hydra fund, but I got a letter from targetcashnow.com. they said I have 7 days to pay them for 300 and they waived my fees. If not a third party collections will want 850. What should I do?

Dear Target Cash

Cut the crap. As you well know, you are unlicensed in my state thus the contract I signed is null and void...legally I owe you nothing. Morally I will repay what I borrowed but on MY schedule via postal money orders. By all means, send me to collections...I will cease and desist any collection agency you assign me to and subtract my expenses from your payment. Should the collection agency choose to violate the cease and desist order, I will happily pursue them for statutory damages under the FDCPA.

Govern yourself accordingly.

i just wonder who actually falls for the "governing law"or the "your state laws don't apply"routine anymore?probably less than ever if some of the emails people get are any idicator.so follow soaplady's lead and know any so called collector most likely won't be legit, and you should act accordingly.

Don’t worry mate…both the lenders are illegal in RI. You owe nothing more than the borrowed amount. You have done the right thing by closing down your bank account. Illegal lenders can’t do anything. You can file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC, if required.

I sent letter to Target Cash and they told me they would waive a little interest, but wouldn't deduct the interest I had paid to date. I told them I would pay principal, minus what I had already paid. They never responded. I sent another email about 2 weeks later and they never responded. It's been over a month. Is this normal? Should I leave well enough alone or send them the principal I owe?
