In March 2005 I had an internet PDL from Ameriloan for $250. Paid some, closed my account. Now, March 2010, they are calling me saying I owe $9,430 to pay it off - this includes, according to them, the original $250 loan plus fees of $75 per payday for $150/month for 61 months. They are willing to "settle" for $475 (original loan plus some other random fees, according to them) if I pay it asap. They have told me that my situation is "dangerous because I have verifiable income" (I guess they missed the part about wage garnishment for unsecured debt being illegal in Texas).
Firstly, I KNOW that this loan is about a year past the statute of limitations in Texas (4 years on pretty much everything). I do not believe Ameriloan is licensed to lend in Texas or any other state. I know the amount they are asking - nearly $10K on a $250 loan - is laughable at best. I would love to see them try to take me to court here in Texas.
I have filed with the Oklahoma and Texas State Attorney Generals, as well as the Oklahoma BBB. They have something like 350 complaints in the past 36 months with the BBB! LOL!!!
They are calling me nonstop at work and at home.
Anyone else had any dealings with them? How did things turn out for you?

Whenever things get locked or disappeared it's usually because someone ticked off Paul Mergel. He's the mod that seems to run everything on the board and he's always locking threads and deleting posts. Maybe you said something that ticked him off.

actually scrub.i bought it up to the admins that the thread was missing.i'd like to say i missed my #1 fan,but i would be lying.any thread that trashes MTE or any d/b/a of theirs i'm all for.so what do you have to say now?
