I got a call from some guy saving he was going to serve me a summons, but I had one last chance to work with them. The number he gave me was 1-877-337-9236. I called and it was a recording for a lawyer Anthony H Rodriguez. I had several payday loans I didn't pay so not sure which one it would be.

Has anyone else had any dealings with these people? I have no clue what I should do about them.

Heh. Lauren Hunter from this guy's office called my mother in law, my brother in law and my mother. She left messages with all of them saying that I would be taken to court, that I owed debt, and that the phone call was notice that I had been served.

This violates three sections of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. You'd think an attorney's office would know better...

Anyway, the correct spelling is Anthony H. Rodriques. His office address is 1001 State St., Ste. 1400, Erie, PA 16501. Y'know, just in case you want to file a complaint with the BBB or something...

I called this number back. They want my bank account information. I told him that I didn't trust him as having not received any documentation in the mail.

Can they really contact my employer? That's why i called them back, because they keep contacting my mother, and I don't want them to contact my employer.

"Charles Jones" has been leaving me messages with the callback # for the "claimant, as a courtesy" leading to the recording for the supposed "Law Office of Anthony Rodriguez." I delete the msgs because I know it is crap, all my PDLs are paid off. Just now I get another call at my office from some other dude who says he is taking over for Mr. Jones, and that he will be coming by my place of employment today "as his schedule works" to serve me the legal paperwork. I told him, "Great, look forward to seeing you! I am here until 5 PM." I wanted to ask him what kind of car he drove and tell him I'd be waiting out front.

Yeah, total effin scam. Last time I checked, process servers never, ever, EVER call you beforehand to warn you that they are coming. Their entire goal is to surprise you and catch you off guard. This is nothing but a stupid scam.

I keep getting harassed by this same company! They tell me they are coming to my house or work and if I am not there, they will file a refusal of signature with the court. It is for a payday loan I paid off three years ago! Now I just hang up on them.

Got a phone call from a Cory Daniels, telling me I need to make myself available on certain day between certain hours to sign an affidavit and proof of service. To make matters worse, he informed me that I would need to present a valid form of I.D. THE NERVE, AT MY OWN HOUSE I HAVE TO PROVE TO HIM WHO I AM!!. He then went on to tell me if I was not home he would be forced to go to my job and leave the papers with personnel.
No one ever showed up, and I was ready for him too. Here's another number they are using 877-344-0177.

On March 2 at 4:00 pm I received a call from an official sounding Cory Daniels from PRIVATE NUMBER on my caller ID. He had a relatives name and said this name and social security number had come across his desk today. I needed to contact the law office of Anthony Rodriguez at the claimants number of 877-344-0177 who would have answers to any questions we might have. He said I needed to sign a legal affidavit to appear in court, case number to refer to was 180........ If we didn't voluntarily resolve this issue, he would come to my home on March 7th to complete the process of serving papers. After looking on line this REEKS of scam, I've never done any kind of Payday loan type deal, but know that a sister-in-law did and she probably put my name/info on her app and thats how they got our phone number. Not giving these people ANYTHING but a good cussing out and specific plans to cause them grief. I appreciate everyone letting me know about this sad scam. Thought I would let others know what happened to me. I will report to FCC or Texas Attorney General. Hope they get nailed by the authorities and soon. Looks like they've been busy with this SCAM too long.

I got a call today from a Paul Allen saying he had legal documents for a subpeuna to appear in court. Case # 165131 said he will serve me on the 19th at home or work if I do not call him back at 877-337-9226. I called the number and got a recording that I had reached these crooks. The Law Offices of Anthony H. Rodriques.
Just wanted to post an update that these chumps are using new names and numbers.

I recieved a call from "Jack" stating if I didn't call and make arrangments with a lawyer by the name of Anthony Rodriguez, he would serve me with papers. He threatened that he would be seeing me today or tomorrow at my house or place of employment. He called from an unknown number and never came. He called a second time and said the same thing, that he would come today at a time that fit into his schedule. What is with these people? Can they really do this?

no.in fact wait to see what he says next time.the only thing that exceeds these mopes stupidity is their ignorance.you think they would get the the hint after you weren't swayed the first time.each call is totally illegal, and you should report his sorry a$$ to your local police.that's right file a police report against this loser.then laugh at him when he calls again.

yes compile your evidence and go to www.naca.net there you will find a contingency lawyer to sue them.yes they violated the FDCPA as third party disclosure is not allowed.they violate the law hand over fist, and need to be penalized for it.

Hi Everyone let me start by saying that the last couple of days Ii went thru hell because this person with the company called me stating that he was needing to go to my home between 10-3 to have me sign a affidavit because I was being summoned to court. Let me say that I was pissed because he left rude messages 3x's on my cell phone and told me that I better be at my home if not he was oging to my place of employment and have me sign the papers there. So I waited for his to show at my place and there was a no show (my husband was waiting mad as hell there and he just didn't show up). I work in a Law office and I waiting there and had my bosses know about what was going on and they told me not to worry because he had already broke laws in giving information to my relatives. I filed a complain with the FTC and gave them the information I had. I was scared but read that there are laws that protect you. I know if you are in another state other than the state where this supposedly law office is, they can't collect in your state. They have to go through courts till they can transfer your case to your county. Don't worry people, they just read a script and tell everyone lies to gett hem to pay but Im not scarred no more. Nothing happened to me and Im still here waiting for this Jerk to call again so I can settle this for once. I know my laws I use them everyday in my line of work!!!!!!!

Oh my goodness! I feel like a complete idiot. These guys called me and threatened to take me to court. I had no idea, as I have never dealt with these types of people. This was for a payday loan I took out years ago, i thought it had been paid, and figured it wasn't because it was during the time that my local bank branch was closing and I honestly can't remember if it was paid or not. Anyhow, They told me that I owed $542 and I paid half of it and promised to pay the other half today but needed the money for an emergency I had over the weekend (I needed a medication for my daughter). I called and tried to make a new arrangement for the end of the month, the guy hung up on me "Peter Lovallo" is his name (at least that's what he stated). He wouldn't even listen to me and said they were going to garnish my wages.

I called an attorney that I found at the website that someone provided here and she told me that it was agains the law for them to contact me that way and that I could order them to cease and desist. To let them know that I had spoken to an attorney. When the guy called me again I let him know "I spoke to an attorney and i order you to cease and desist" he told me "You can't order me that, so I don't know what type of attorney you spoke to" the nerve!!!! Anyhow, he said that I needed to send something in writing and provided the address in Eerie.

Hire an fdcpa specialist attorney right away. They usually take case for no fee & get theirs back from the judgement. I did & got the debt wiped out and almost 2 grand.

Special note in Texas. If you are TX resident he has to have a 10k surety bond on file to legally collect. Your attorney can check that as well

The only way to get back at slimballs like this is to sue them. Look in Yellow pages or google fdcpa lawyers then your city. They usually collect no fee up front get their money from settlement

In addition if you live in TX they have to have a $10,000.00 surety bonbd to collect.

You can find this out at Texas Secretary of State website. click on collector bond search

That would be cool, I haven't had any issues with calls yet..., I say yet, because tomorrow is my "scheduled" ripoff withdrawal and my bank account is closed... Haven't had any response from the ACH letters Ive sent... I would love to be able to get back at scum like this that think they can just boss people around. Im by no means greedy, I would even pay a lawyer just so I could watch these d bags get there arse handed to em in court.

The name is:
Anthony Hugh Rodriques, PA Attorney ID: 208546
1001 State Street, Suite 1400
Erie, PA 16501

Direct Telephone # (814) 746-7181

If you feel he or his employees hav violated state or federal law in the collection of debt (which may include threats to sue in a state where he is not licensed), you should not waste your time with the Better Business Bureau, you should file a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General & the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission as well as the same agencies in your home state and also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission - these agencies generally have toll free numbers and websites where you can file a complaint on line.

Noooooo, Borrowing money, paying it off, then paying double, then paying triple, trying to get ahold of anyone that can speak clear english at these places to get them to stop taking your money when they clearly dont follow there own set rules and contractual obligations. (by taking more and more)

THEN... ....Having your name, ss#, address, dob, license number, scattered to some derka derka across the pond.

And I sound worse? - Ok, keyboard tough guy. Time for you to get back to work.
