If you write a check for a store front payday loan in South Carolina and dont pay can you be arrested for writing a bad check? I have three store front and three internet payday loans. I am over my head with these and other debts and fear going to jail. Please help.

Usually, the store fronts are operating legally, and you will need to work out payment arrangements with them. I think I've read other threads about PDLs not being able to prosecute for bad checks though when you have to leave a check as collateral. I'm not sure though, and it may depend on the state.

I see that you are in South Carolina. If you can list some additional information, someone should be better able to advise you: each company and whether it is internet or store front, the amount borrowed and amount paid so far to each.
