Old payday loan/ Debt collector

I was contacted 2 days ago by a man saying he was to serve me with papers for writing a bad check in Ohio, and attempting to defraud a company. He said he had no idea about the company and gave me a number to call. I called and spoke with a lady who told me that I had written a check at Check Advance in 2005 and it bounced. She said that if my papers hadn't been served yet we could make payment arrangements. She then told me that if it went to court it would be $1700, but if I made the arrangements it would be $400. And if I wanted to settle that day, it would only be $188. I didn't make arrangements and told her I would possibly call her back. I have had 2 more phone calls from the man saying to have my I.D. ready he is coming to serve my papers. Any advice as to what I should do? Thanks in advance.
