I have 3 payday loans through 500fastcash, cashanddash, and soniccash. The total are 250, 300, and 200. I closed my bank account and opened up a new one and my bank is still charging my ISF fee's of $30.00 each time they try to withdraw even though they are being rejected. This is with the new account too. I called my bank, and they told me that I would have to contact the companies to get them to stop withdrawing from my bank..and that I was in a contract with them, and they will use my new account since the old one is closed. I don't understand how that's possible? He told me to call back tomorrow and talk to the supervisor. It's an internet bank, so they are not locally anywhere. I tried to tell them, that these companies are illegal in the State of Oregon, and scams but he said I would have to talk to his supervisor. When I call tomorrow, what should I say? This has got to stop. I have 6 $30.00 charges already, and the account is negative $141.00.

Even if the are trying to take from a CLOSED account, your bank is STILL charging? How can they charge you, on a CLOSED account? That doesn't sound 'right' to me. 'Your' bank can't put a 'stop payment' on these PDL's? I would think ANY bank would know that they are illegal.

If you closed your account and the bank is still charging you they are as bad as the PDL companies.

Call your bank and tell them you closed your account and if they do not put a stop to the NSF fees, then it is there problem. Your account had to have a positive or 0 balance as they will not let you close a checking account with a negative account balance.

Fax or email a copy of the revoke ach transaction letter to your bank. Once they receive it, if they allow any further transactions it will be out of their pockets, not yours.

I talked to the supervisor today and he basically told me that my closed account is tied to my new one, and I signed a contract with the companies to debit withdrawls from the old account, so any fee's I would get on my old account are going to apply to my new account. sounds like a scam to me..he won't reverse the charges at all. That's what I get going through an internet bank.

What you need to do is send a formal letter (in the form of email would do) to ALL of these lenders and officially revoke their right to debit any and ALL accounts you have, then forward this email to your financial institution! Your financial institution is bound by federal law to REVOKE any and all ACH transactions from all of these lenders.

This is what the supervisor just told me after I told them to put a hard debit block on my new account.

Thanks for contacting First IB.

A block cannot be placed on this account due to the terms/agreements set up with these cash advance companies. These companies deposited funds into your account (which were then immediately withdrawn from an ATM) and have the right to debit the account until they receive their funds, per the agreement set. You will need to work with these cash advance companies to stop any further withdrawal attempts.

Thanks-

This is his response after my respose.

Excuse me? How do you know what the terms/agreements are of these cash advance companies? I have turned you into the BBB, and filed a complaint with the Attorney general of Indiana. You're just as bad as the payday loan companies. These companies will not work with any of these customers, because they ARE a SCAM, and ILLEGAL to loan in the STATE of Oregon. How hard is it to understand that I paid them in full via certified money order. I suggest you block my account immediately from these companies or every fee that you put on my account is going to come out of your pocket, not mine.

Jamie-

The terms and agreements of cash advance companies are standard and we have had experience in dealing with this type of situation. Any dispute regarding your account must be dealt with those companies. A block will not be placed on the account.

Thanks-

Yes, I sent both 500fastcash, and cashndashonline ACH revoking authorization from debiting my account. I also forwarded the email to my bank.

This bank is a real piece of work. They are seriously just as bad as the PDL companies. I don't know what else to do. I have contacted the BBB, and attorney general in there state and filed a case against them. (my bank) I'll see if they can help.

WOW!! That's almost insane!! Ye..sounds like 'something up' with the OP's bank. The OP shouldn't have had a problem with ANY of the PDL's being 'stopped' from the bank account. Since the OP filed a complaint, I'm VERY curious to see what happenes. I think the OP needs to give her 'services' to another bank, if possible.

If you open a 'new' account, in no way, is it 'tied' to your 'old' account. That's crazy your bank said that. If you closed your account...it's JUST THAT...closed!! OMG!! You would think your bank would help you out.

I have an update.

Another person from my bank emailed me and told me he can reverse the fee's to where it's a zero balance and then close the account for me and I wouldn't be able to open a new one with them ever again. or I can fax or email pictures of the money order stubs which I used to pay the lenders the principal amount of what I owed them since they are ILLEGAL in the state of Oregon and he would reverse the fee's and put a block on my account from this happening again.

What do you think?

He also said this:

I'm confused as to why these 3 payday loan businesses would still be trying to debit your account if they've been paid in full.

I told him that all three of these companies are ILLEGAL, and scammers and that's why. I don't know what else to do. I told him I'm just going to let the BBB and attorney general in there state handle it.

That isn't going to happen. YOU have to "handle it". It is a part of the responsibility inherent in being Free.

That response from the bank is very good, and correct. Send them the documentation they request (the 2nd choice) and put this thing behind you. At least they are trying, I have heard so many horror stories that your bank has impressed me greatly.
