OMG! I have the best loan officer ever! Remember, I tried to close my account and was told no, I couldn't, but that wasn't the branch manager that i talked to. Anyway, I talked to my loan officer about these pdls and told her I had sent them all the letters about not debiting my account, etc., and she said it wouldn't do any good. She told me just to call her on the days they tried to send ACHs through. I called this morning--I had 11 ACHs on my account today--she told me she would waive the NSF charges! Since I called my Payroll dept. Monday, and had my paycheck issued as a paper check and not a direct deposit, there was not enough money in the account for any of them--she sent them all back with no NSF charges! Can you believe it? I am so excited. I will actually have real money when my paycheck comes in the mail! I am so pumped. Now I have to get busier fighting the pdls. They will all be calling, I'm sure. My sister-in-law got a call from one last night. She is a reference of mine. I think it was probably from Cashnet USA, who I put a stop payment on two weeks ago. You guys have given me all the info and the courage to start all this! Plus I have a pif from payday select. Does that mean payday OK is also paid off, since they are the same company? Sorry, I am rambling. I apologize for this being so long!

You will have to get a pif from payday ok too. They have the same parent company, but operate sort of seperatly. But they are fairly easy to work with too. Congrats on your first pif! :D

Did you ask the loan officer about putting any sort of hold on your account? The only thing that worries me still about your situation is this - When I went through my mess, I had a nice banker helping me. He kept crediting back all the nsf charges I was getting. It ended up being like 30 in a couple weeks (at 11 a day, you will see how fast they add up!) Well, loss prevention noticed this. They decided (without talking to the banker first) that the banker and I were in some sort of deal to screw the bank out of these nsf fees. They actually ended up freezing my account and sending me to chexsystems for potential fraud. I did nothing wrong. The banker was doing what he should've. But sometimes the back office can be a bit wacko! Now, this is just what happened to me. It was a crappy bank. You may be fine. I just wanted to warn you about my experience.

I would talk to the loan officer about a freeze or hold if you haven't already.

But other then that it sounds like you are off to a great start! Keep us updated!

Gouda,
You are so kind and so knowledgeable! I have talked to her about a freeze or hold, and she seems to think it would be best just to return them or get stop payments on them, I don't know why. But I will talk to the branch manager and see what I can get done.

Be sure to tell her that these companies will not stop debiting, and that they will use other dba's, try to put paper checks through, and will break up the payments. If they want $100, they will put through 10 $10 payments. So that is 10 nsf fees. And so on . . . . I would bet after a couple days of dealing with it, she will see the need for a hold or freeze . . . . .

That is wonderful to know that there is someone out there commpassionate. However, I would be very skeptical of opening another account with the same bank as you may not be lucky enough to get this same woman helping you. Just a thought you might want to open an account at a totally different bank. But I am a paranoid kind of person. I don't trust many people when it comes to these things.
