payday loans

I recently applied for a payday loan. I did receive it. No problem, I am paying it back, But someone recently called me at work and stated that a court action would be taken if I didn't take care of a debt I recently incurred. They told me it was 845.00 but if it went to court it would be over eight thousand. Well, this scared me and I foolishly paid this amount. To make a long story short they are calling me again. I have my bank statements. They say I took out another loan and it has not been paid. I didn't do this. What do I need to do to take care of this?

Someone will be along who can give you better advice than I can; in the meantime, do you happen to have the name and/or telephone numbers of any of the people who've called you, and also the name of your original payday loan company? It's probable that others here have had experience with them as well. Unfortunately many of the PDLs share their customers' information with other PDLs and with bottomfeeder collection agencies.
