Bank still refusing to close account! Help!
Date: Mon, 12/19/2011 - 14:21
After 10 days of emails and personal visits to the bank, they are still refusing to close the account linked to the PDLs. I went in with a copy of the EFTA, my bank statements showing multiple debits per pay-period from same lenders, and a copy of all my emails with their corporate office.
All they would do is send an email to their operating manager to post a stop payment on upcoming charges, with no guarantee that this will stop this week's debits from going through. I even threatened to file a formal complaint with the AG, and they basically shrugged their shoulders at me. No response.
I know I'm to blame for not researching these lenders more thoroughly, but I'm shocked that my 'legal financial institution' is trying to screw me over too.
Any suggestions? should I go to the county's legal aid office?

If it???s not possible to close your bank account, then request your bank manager to put a hard debit check on your bank account.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A HARD DEBIT CHECK!!!! IT IS NOT A BANKING TERM!!! PLEASE STOP GIVING OUT THIS RIDICULOUS INFORMATION....YOU WERE TOLD THIS WHEN YOU WERE POSTING UNDER ANNASWEETING OR WHATEVER OLD NAME YOU WERE USING.
It you are going to post here, learn about credit. You are still giving out bad information and I will continue to delete it. I really dont care that you saw it on another board....other boards give out bad information too.
To the poster....the bank will not close your account until you bring it positive. That is standard. However they MUST abide by your ACH revocation...that is federal law. Did you take a copy of the law in with you??? My suggestion is call your state AG's office and file a complaint asap. You have a legal right to revoke any ACH transaction. If you notified the creditor that you revoked it, and gave a copy to your bank, they must comply. I would demand that your bank put their refusal to honor your request in writing.

I don???t know why you are saying like this. I have no relation with the names you have mentioned above. I???m new here and trying to learn from this forum.

Learn english or learn the basics of credit? I am sorry...but you are giving out BAD advice to people trying to get out of debt. A lot of times this has legal implications....with the bad advice you are giving could cause someone to be sued or have their wages garnished or go thru a wage assignment. If you do not know an answer to a question, DO NOT ANSWER IT....DO NOT GUESS AT IT. The other mods and experts here know their legal references and statutues....we can back up our answers. You are simply repeating wrong information, often parroting enjoyyourlifetothefulest. The both of you showed up the same time, sounding identical to a bunch of posters who had just left this forum.
