This is incredibly depressing.
I got in trouble with some payday loans a few months ago, and I just can't break the cycle. I have a lot now, all with small amounts, a lot of them I have paid over the amount of the loan. I just don't know what to do, and don't want to close my bank account. All of these are internet lenders and I'm located in Illinois. Please help!
All "have paid" dates are as of 10/30/09.
1. M1Y Direct (877) 619-6584 Took out $300 loan on 6/20, have paid $810
2. Sandpoint Capital (800) 708-4342 Took out $300 loan on 6/20, have paid $810
3. CMG Group (866) 516-3100 Took out $300 loan on 6/20, have paid $810
4. United Cash Loans (800) 279-8511 Took out $400 loan on 6/20, have paid $1,110
5. Paycheck Today (866) 756-0600 Took out $300 loan on 6/20, have paid $920
6. One Click Cash (800) 230-3266 Took out $400 loan on 6/20, have paid $1,110
7. Greenlight Funding (800) 914-1574 Took out $300 on 9/1, have paid $432
8. Solomon / Pay1Day (888) 729-1329 Took out $250 loan on 6/20, have paid $637.50
9. Kingston Financial (800) 620-8790 Took out $200 loan on 9/1, have paid $356
10. Cash Pronto (800) 458-5740 Took out $300 loan on 9/1, have paid $360
11. National PDL (877) 778-8006 Took out $300 loan on 9/1, have paid $360
12. Salary Fast (866) 469-0916 Took out $200 loan on 9/1, have paid $312
13. Beacon (800) 459-0743 Took out $200 loan on 9/1, have paid $356
Well, there you have it. Please, please someone, tell me how to get out of this mess. I am so embarrassed, but I know I have to do something soon. All of these fees are eating up my whole paycheck every two weeks and I have no way out. Any advice would be appreciated, just don't tell me how stupid I've been. Believe me, I know.
Thanks in advance for your help.

hello.being in illinois myself i can tell you none of the above are licensed, and therefore are illegal.go to the sticky titled DEALING WITH ILLEGAL LENDERS.that will guide you step by step.first thing is to secure your bank account.you have well overpaid all of these, and should pay no more.go to the sticky, and let me know if you have any further questions.

keep reading the advice on this site, it is very possible to take care of all of this yourself. i did and many people here have done it themselves but that is all up to you. all i know is that i didn't have anymore money to give up to get some company to settle this for me so i did it myself. there is much help on this website, just keep reading and good luck to you.

Thanks for the responses. I opened a new bank account today and am transferring my funds over today. From what I hear, it is best to just open a whole new account. I did follow other posters advice and made sure that no ACH's can come in after I close this account. I am using the letter that I found on the forums and emailing each lender as was suggested. I am not expecting a response from any, but at least I have documentation. Would anyone recommend sending a hard copy too?

I am very nervous about collection agencies getting a hold of these. What are people's experiences with that?

So I have been contacting most of these companies to confirm that they received my ACH revocation emails. Some are very nice and confirm PIF. I have actually gotten a refund from two. However, some are very rude and still claiming that I have a balance! Usually these are the companies whose loan agreements are based on Nevis Law. I have no idea what to say to these people, and they are not going to cancel the ACH. Is there anything else that I can do?

I was in similar satuation last year. what I did , I closed my checking account number, changed my homephone number, and told everybody at work that they don't give out my new number to anybody who calls at work. it's been a year since then. only thing they did , yhey keep sending me letter for pay original balace, but I throw them in trash.
I been fine and never ever get any more payday loan, but I tell you they are in my credit report for 7 years. that is you call to get rid of them like that or keep paying them. good luck[

well Ali2188 with regards to this is would say it will be a good idea to get some professional help. i would not agree to what madmax has to say because it is not worth ruining your entire credit for paydayloan companies such as these and running away from your debts only to see them still in your credit report.some thing needs to be done and would suggest that you look for a debt settlement law firm that has expertise in dealing with payday loans and you can go haead and get out of this mess in an organized manner, i think you should call up the toll free number and see what they have to say in the free consultation that they offer after all if that can get you out of debts it should be worth it what i would say is look at the ranking chart for a list of companies that are listed there or you can just call the toll free number.

hi ali 2188 you can go in for a settlement that would be the best thing and i would advise madmax the same to get your debts resolved instead of just letting it be there till it ruins your entire credit history you should go in for a settlement with them and make arrangements for getting that paid off and start living again as you used to without the payday loans you will be debt free and thats such a wonderful feeling.

Uh, no. She doesn't need to get a consolidation company or debt settlement law firm involved, as she has already paid above and beyond what she is legally and morally required to do. There is no more valid debt to settle or consolidate, it sounds like y'all are just trolling for customers.

If any of these show up on her credit report, she can immediately dispute them as invalid, as the borrowed amount was paid back and the lender was not licensed to charge any additional fees.

Please people, be careful about the advice you are giving!! Recommending a settlement or consolidation company to deal with unlicensed lenders is totally ridiculous! Do your homework before you post advice that may cause more harm then good! Get the facts first!!!

My advice is to follow Paul Mergel's advice!!
