I finally received the phone call which threatened me with "being downloaded' :)
I remember reading something about this on the forums but I wanted to ask how exactly do you reply to such a phone call??
They called my cell phone 3-4 times and then my work number but I can barely understand what they're saying because of a very heavy indian? accent and I cannot understand who they represent.
They say they are not a collection agency but a law firm ( they actually sound like a call center to me with lots of noise in the background).
I think the supervisor name was Jeremy Barker...
Does anybody else received phone calls like this?

just do as guest says.you can laugh too.these people are a scam of a joke.hopefully this forum and other sites are helping people know that.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASSSSSE...will SOMEBODY please explain what these morons mean when they say "you will be downloaded"? ROFLMAO!!!

Will we be downloaded in cyberspace ne'er to see our children again?? Will we be downloaded by one person and e-mailed to thousands...no MILLIONS of people as SPAM??? THEN WHAT??? We rot in limbo-space...until the NEXT moronic PDL collector threatens us that "we will be downloaded"...only to start the process all over again???

...too funny...

Oh it's been a while since I've seen one of these posts....

Desperately, the threat is supposed to mean that they are going to download your file to the police department and then the police will be out to arrest you.

Someone should correct the PDL's jargon and inform them that if they were indeed electronically sending the file to the police dept ... that they would in effect be "uploading" the file not "downloading" it.

It's funny to mess with these people when they call. Here are some ideas...

CALLER: "We will download you"
YOU: "Really? Will it be painful?"

CALLER: "We will download you"
YOU: "Oh? Ok. Well, let me put the phone down so I can plug the computer modem cable into a convenient bodily opening so you can download me. Which opening do you suggest I use?"

CALLER: "We will download you"
YOU: "Whew! For a minute there I thought you said you were going to UPload me - but as long as you're just going to DOWNload me, that's fine!"

SueBeeHoney70, you are SO bad! :)

I think all of these outfits must work from the same script and if they are distracted from the script in any way, shape, or form, they get very, very upset and flustered. (so of course that is what I try to do...)
