I just found out that Mypaydayloan.com is an illegal PDL company I believe located in Costa Rica. I have paid them 985.00 on an original loan that was 400..500 with interest and then 145.00 added on because i was able to reborrow. I had no clue they were illegal. I have my bank statements and proof that I have paid them almost a thousand dollars. They are harassing me by cellphone ..now my job and by email.Saying I owe them $808. I am not sending them another dime and I closed my bank account. How do I get them to stop harassing me. I have filed complaints with BBB...FTC and IC3.

An airhorn can be a nice touch when they call. Or just hang up. Another option...ask them to hold on a moment and put the phone down.....go back to what you were doing.

Let your employer know that your bank account was compromised and you are being harassed for a debt you do not owe.

i followed the instructions about dealing w/ unliscensed pdl's and after dealing w/ many scary phone calls and emails telling them that I have paid $1260.54 on an original loan of $775, i got a letter via fedex today reading that by signing this letter they would say I owe $0 and I have to agree not to share, disseminate, post, or transmit any communications from mypaydayloan.com. and that upon signing this, there are no more obligations owing between them and I. what should I do? i have already asked for the overpayment amt back in the amt of $485.54. obviously, they don't want to return it. how can I get them to?

I just got a FedEx same letter from Elizabeth Chan Chan, Attorney at Law stating the same. They also stated that all communications by MPDL.com are copyrighted and that I would be breaking copyright law by sharing it. This "attorney" also cited some US Supreme court case M/S Bremen v. Zapata Off-Shore Co., 407 U.S. 1, (1972) about governing law or something like that which supports the sovereignty of foreign entitites to engage in unsolicited business in the US as well as another case but then ends with the same basic letter that you got. If I agree to sign that and return it, my balance will be dismissed. This seems like a weird thing to me as there is all that BS about not disseminating, sharing, posting, transmitting....in any way, the content of any communication from MyPayDayLoan.com. It seems like they are trying to set me up for something. Any ideas experts??
