the best way to send letters to payday lenders? two more questions!
Date: Wed, 10/01/2008 - 15:17
I have loans coming out 6/6/08 and I plan on closing my account saturday and opening up a new account at another bank also on saturday. i called my bank regarding the possibility of the loans opening the account back up and other people i was told by reading this website except the payday lenders. The only reason i chose saturday is because my check goes into my account friday at midnight and I need to get out from under these loans.
I live in PA and called the DOB a number of times among other places and was told there is no law against payday lenders outside of PA. (thats why i'm closing my account)
2.) I was reading the sample letters that were available on this website: should I delete where it says the lender was conducting illegal business and just basically tell them I will definitely pay them but in installments and ONLY by Money Order?
Thank you so much for all of the help. I just want this over with as painless and quickly as possible!

If the pdl company doesn't have any license in PA then it is not affiliated to lend in PA. So, don't erase the line you mentioned in your post.

PA is a loophole state, if the lender is licensed ANYwhere in the U.S., you must abide by the laws they're licensed in! You can email AND fax the revocation letters, I would do both if I had that option available. If you'll list the names of the pdl's, we can better assist you. Also list the amounts borrowed and paid back. Thanks!
