Hello community, i am new and am looking for some answers and advice on how to move beyond the payday loan hell. My husband and I have between us about 14 loans outstanding between us. We live in Ohio and we just cant handle them anymore. The walls are closing in on us and it's really bad. The acct is overdrawn and we really can't bring it to a positive balance. I put an ach freeze on it to prevent addt'l nsf fees, but I'm not sure how to move forward. I'm scared, nervous and worried now all the time and to think all this started out with just one loan!! We fell on some hard times and thought we could prevent some other things by getting the loans and paying them back, but it just got worse. We want to pay everyone back, but it's hard to do all at the same time. I posted a comment on another page in the PDL forum before I saw this so-apologize for posting in 2 different places..I just need some really good advice. Can I go to jail? In your experience, have some lenders been open to payments? Is there any place that would consolidate PDL's? What about bankruptcy? Should this be an option? I'm open to all suggestions. Please..

Welcome...
First of all ...no...you can not be arrested, We do not have debtors prisons in the US. That said...we have all been where you are. It takes work but you can reclaim your financial life. I will post the laws fo ryour state. Can you please tell us if your loans are internet or store front?? How much is the original loan for? and how much has been paid on each one (don't separate fee's just how much each one has debited from your account). Then we can better give you some advice to move forward...

We have several knowledgable people here from your state...I am sure they will be along soon...

The rules and regulations issuers of payday loans must abide by in the state of Ohio.

You will find the Payday loan laws for Ohio here (just select your state),
