So I sent the letter to BIG, and got a phone call within minutes of sending the email. I am being told i have to follow the laws of the UK and my state laws dont matter. they say I can pay the loan in full or continue with the finance charges. I informed the lady that I already blocked them from my account. She said if the payment is returned they will send me to collections within five days and I can deal wtih that department. If I have to obey UK laws how do deal with these people. I have paid them well over the amount I took out. It was a $200 loan and I have been paying a fee since March 7th 2008. It started as a $80 fee and slowly went down to $40 a pay period. I am freaked out now!

Don't be, and Maddie please keep all of your info in one thread so we won't get confused.

They are just blowing smoke, you will get a call probably threatening you but don't be afraid, just hang up on them, if you have been paying since march you have already paid them what you owe and some, so just ignore them, i know it sounds difficult but you can do it :)

What a coincidence, BIG actually debited my account today and i have told the bank that i will be reversing that charge tommorow. So i email them today with the ACH and WAGE assignment revocation letters and also telling them that i will not be intimidated and that they have indeed been reported to the BBB, attorney general, and the FTC. all of which i have actually done. I took out an initial loan back in december of 2007 for 200.00 and have paid them over 700.00. I will pay no more. Anyway, about an hour after the email i get an "unknown call". When i answer the phone i immediately pick up on the accent of the woman on the other end and say that i have nothing to talk about and hang up. I'm quite sure i will be getting another phone call soon. I also know that from this site, that they will try and debit my account under different names. and i let them know that evertime they try i will report them to the fraud division of my bank. I am actually working on closing my old account and getting another, just have to get my direct deposits in order first. The only thing that i am worried about is them calling and harassing my employer. About two weeks ago i updated my information with them and gave them a "wrong" work number saying that i had changed jobs. Hopefully they will use this new number.

I have a few other loans that are okay, and I am almost done paying them, and I have NEVER had problems with these 3 companies. So i have them my new banking information. Was this a big mistake. Can the other 4 companies I didnt give my new information to get it now?

You're better off not giving any info. out to anyone....I found that companies were debiting that I didn't know....like for PDL alerts, etc. all this crazy stuff that's in their fine print when you first apply. To get out of the PDL trap once and for all you really need to do that......
