I got an email from B&L Marketing regarding the fax I sent them. It urged me to call them. I called them and they asked why I sent the letter, when I should've just called and explained the situation. I told them payday loans are illegal in IL and I am only responsible for the principal. The lady told me that I signed a contract stating I would pay XXX amount off.

I asked about a repayment plan and she said I can pay via Moneygram.. She wouldn't give me an address I could send payments to. She also said that "I"m hurting myself more by sending letters like that then just calling and explaining the situation.

Now, I'm a little scared that none of the pdl companies are going to acknowledge my letters and I'm going to get more in trouble...

Lucy-Its going to be okay

These people will say anything to you! Especially since they had you on the phone they had a chance to really lay into you because they know not to call you!

They are illegal in IL....period. regardless of the contract, etc. They can have fun trying to enforce an illegal contract in court. It wont happen.

They cannot force you to pay via moneygram...sorry.

Do you have a physical address for B&L??

trying to send you a PM but it might be stuck in my outbox...

You are no obliged to send them an email about this....period. You CAN out of good faith.

And bascially, it should just say" I am going to pay XXXX on XXXdate via money order. This is my documented attempt to resolve this matter".

Send money orders...certified!
