What happens if my bank account was closed by my bank before the check from the paycheck place was deposited so it was considered a bounced check? I live in Nebraska. I'm not too sure if my account was closed or not but I just wanted to know what would happen in case.

I think you need to find out for sure whether your account is closed or not.

Is it closed by the bank?

I think you'd be charged with some fees both by the pdl and the bank if the check bounce. You might find some other ways to pay the pdl to avoid acquiring NSF fees.

In this situation the PDL company may assume you intentionally took a loan with the intentions of not paying. Is this a storfront lender or internet PDL?

If it is a storefront then PLEASE get proof that your account was closed by the actual bank and take it to the PDL company. This will help you avoid possible accusations from the PDL company. I am sure they will charge you a fee for the bounced check along with a original loan amount plus financing fee. That sucks!! :( If this is too expensive for you to pay upfront, I suggest you call and try to work out an alternative with the manager. What is the name of the PDL company?

As for the bank you might get charged a fee for the check. Did you inform the bank when the account was closed that you had outstanding checks??

Ace Cash Express...Storefront. The company that is contacting me is Advanced Creidt Recovery. The guy I talked to yesterday said that Ace is filing a suit against me for writing a bad check and that I need to pay it now. I don't have the money to pay it now. The guy was super rude and now keeps calling and calling me!

Ah ha! It's a colelction agency! Well, you have the FDCPA on your side, so, the next time they call, tell them that they are required by federal law to send you a dunning letter (letter of collection) in the mail 5 days after their first initial contact with you, and if they don't you are going to report them to the FTC (link in my signature). DON'T do anything until you receive a letter of collection. Once you receive it, request validation. You can't be too careful, this could be anyone calling you claiming they have a right to collect that debt, so it's up to you to make them prove it. Google the FDCPA and educate yourself on your rights. If this is a legit collection agency they KNOW they are required to send you a letter of collection in the mail. Seriously, if you don't receive a letter of collection you need to file a complaint with the FTC, in the complaint state that this collection agency is calling you making threats about a bad check, also state that you have NOT received a dunning letter even after you requested it. Fight back!
