does anyone know anything about a company called M. Callahan & Assiciates? I had a payday loan through cashnet that they are saying has been sold to them. they are asking for alot more then my loan. I am in California. Any help on how i should deal with these guys?

if they won't send you details in writing then that's tough for them.they are one of many bottomfeeders that try to illegaly collect on pdl's.the reason that cashnet won't take paynment is that they charged it off,and sold it.therefore i would deduct anything paid thus far from the loan balance.yes until they send you something ignore them,or hangup on them.

you are not stupid okay.first if cashnet doesn't want their money.that's tough.they sold the debt to a bottomfeeder who violates the FDCPA(fair debt collection practices act)again that's tough.if they don't want to play by the rules it don't get paid.again do not give them a thin dime without something in writing.file AG,and FTC complaints against this bottomfeeder.use the ph# and name of the place as reference.

Turn then into the Better Business Bureau - they have been sued for thiie ilegal collection practices. They tried this with me and I am a paralegal and researched them Sued in the Eastern District court of NY for violations of the FDCP act and Rosenthal, if they continue to call me they will face another law suit maybe a class action, yes I had a Pay day Loan and I over paid it - was a year by the time I realized they were taking money from my business account every week when was supposed to be once a month and paid in full - I have recorded phone messagesd from them and ilegal emails - I reported them to the BBB the BCA and FBI:p

Report them to the DA in NY. There is a Civil Lawsuit against them. I am a Banruptcy and Credit Paralegal. Their opening pre recorded message to me and many were Your in Ferderal Violation and ___ ____ ___ your being sued to avoid jail call 1 866 _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ . Their threats of jail lawsuits and other actions are not legal - reporting any one on checks where it was ACH - Automatic transfer is not a check and its not one that any one wrote there fore they cant report that either - the only fraud involved is them and they can lose their bond to collect can be revoked.
So report them and tell them not to call your home nor work.:p
