Several months back I had a company in Colorado harassing me about an unpaid portion of a payday loan from back in 2008. I live in Kentucky and it was an internet pay day loan through pay day one so obviously since it was not a store front the loan was never valid as in KY it is illegal to offer internet pay day lending.

Now this morning I get a call from a Empire Asset Solutions out of New York stating that their is a civil lawsuit about to take place unless I take care of this with his office. He said he is with a recovery business and this is the last attempt to take care of this before legal issues are fully pursued.

Is this company legit? I want this to go away. I do not have the money to pay back the portion that want me to, which I have probably paid two times over in the ridiculous interest they charge.

Can someone give me some advice please?

Thanks

So, basically this was another lame attempt to try to pressure me into paying a illegal practice that pay day loan internet companies run?

I was wondering how they were going to file a civil lawsuit against me in KY when pay day lending through the web is illegal.

most bottomfeeding scams like this are in NY.a state that also prohibits pdl lending.they count on over the top terms, and tactics to scam people.file the report and hang up on,or ignore them from now on.

I too received a call from the county where I live about a cliam that was filled agnist me. I called to verify the information and hire an attorney for help. The legal advice I got was to clear the matter up If what they are saying is true, basically dodging a big mess. I contacted the company and resolved my situation. It's been about six months now and all the calls have stopped. Thanks to the person that helped me take care of my problem.
