i got sucked into the payday loan trap :( and have incurred so so so many NSF fees and they are continuing to try to debit my account. I get paid next Monday so im trying to get this all done by Saturday when i can go into my bank freeze, put it on deposit only, or close my account.
im in process of writing ACH revocation letters to these companies because i believe they may all be illegal. im also going to take these letters to my bank.
my questions are: what are the exact CA laws on payday loans or where can i find them?
are these companies in fact illegal to do business in CA?
how or can i try to get some of these NSF fees refunded if in fact they are illegally lending to me?
should i call my Department of corporations?
what should be my next step after i can get to my bank Saturday so my next paycheck is safe?
Please please help!
thank you!!!!

thank you!
so went to the bank yesterday, got a block on my account and it will close within 10 days!
in the mean time they are continuing to call my cell, work, and send me email after email.
what s the next best step? ACH revocation letters? through email or letters? or both?
should i file complaints with dept of corporations?
thanks!
filed
I too live in CA and have several lenders who I am currently dealing with.
I first closed my account before any fees or monies would be withdrawn and then sent letters to all the lenders.
One of the lenders sent me a PIF letter and another lender did the same and actually sent me a refund for 695.....
I however did file complaints w/ whomever I was able to and kept on emailing the lenders.
you will need to mail in the complaints to the department of corporations, send them your copies of the bank statements showing the deposits and withdrawls and also the emails you have sent.
Good luck =)
