Need Correct Addresses
Date: Sat, 02/14/2009 - 06:06
I sent out my letters certified mail on the 4th of Feb. and three of the addresses weren't any good. I went by the addresses that I found on this site but I would like to resend them if anyone has another address. I did send the letters via fax and email so I'm sure they were at least received. These are the addresses I had:
Cash Advance Network
175 Fairview Dr. STE E 10
Carson City, NV 89701
Cash Supply
314 N Riverside Dr.
Espanola, NM 87532
500 Fast Cash
2533 N Carson Street
Carson City, NV 89706
It's amazing how many lenders I found from doing my research that are in NV, why is that?
Also, I just wanted to pass along since there have been so many posts concerning BOA that I, too, am really upset with them. I filed a claim against a $110 charge on my debit card that "Lawal & Associates" (Integral Recovery) took from me because I gave them my credit card number back in November because they told me they were getting ready to call my employer and that I could possibly go to jail for electronic fraud. I was scared to death at the time and made a payment to them for $110 for a payday loan that I took out in March of 08 with Sagamore. I paid $480 on a $200 and then stopped payment. I legally paid more than I needed to pay but they turned it over to Lawal & Associates who then said I owed over $500. Well, BOA gave me a temporarty credit and also gave me a credit of $350 in NSF fees. They turned around yesterday and took $110 + $350 out of my new account and said that after their research my claim was denied. They said that Lawal & Associates said I gave them my number so the bank in turn honors their word!!!!!! I'm the customer and I think the bank should realize the situation I was in and honor the claim. I completely disagree with their decision. If I complain about this CA to my AG can they turn around the decision that Bank of America made with my claim? I think it's a bunch of BS!!! I told BOA that it is really their word against mine, but the bank, who I've been banking with for over 20 years, took their side. I'm very upset and not sure what direction to go in. Any advice?

I am sure they researched how much they could get in fees and that is why they sided with the lender so they could line their own pockets as well. Siding with you means they lose those fees.
Send an email or letter to that Lawal & Associates, which I am sure is illegal, and revoke you ACH with them. Also give a copy to the bank so they know you have sent them a ACH revocation letter.
I doubt it will help get any of your money back but at least it might help stop further debits.

Why are so many PDL collections based in Nevada? The world may never know. I live in Illinois but I recently filed a complaint with Nevada Division of Financial Institution because I wired money to an illegal collection agency, Credit Protection Depot. I am still awaiting response from them regarding my repayment plan. I plan I sent before any default on my loans. Bank of America is being extremely greedy. They must be hurting bad in this economy to take from their customers.

It's really sad to read a lot of these stories, mine included. It's also too bad we cannot get at least HALF of America to stop using certain banks for just ONE month so they can feel the impact and maybe actually start treating their customers better.
Anyone have any good ideas for a good bank? I am been through numerous and Wells Fargo right now is NOT treating me very good. I am thinking about Kohler Credit Union now which is a more local bank in my area.

I have to wonder how many of these addresses are just "fronts," like many of the US phone numbers for the PDLs which aren't even in the US. Out of curiosity, I entered a couple of the addresses into google earth - on each one, you can see the address at "street level." One of the addresses in Carson City is at an intersection where there doesn't appear to have ANY offices whatsoever, just a couple of fast food places and a used car lot. One of the others seems to be out in the middle of nowhere with NO buildings. Interesting!!!

Those of us who care about this and are being screwed over are living paycheck to paycheck. The banks don't get to "invest" (I'm using that term loosely) my money. It goes in the bank on Friday and my automatic bill payments have eaten it up by the end of the day!
We would have to get the people who are able to save money and carry a balance to go in on it to really make them hurt.

Actually, Jen, I think fixenup's idea would work. I read that some banks make up to 25% of their revenues from ATM fees, NSF charges and things like that. They get more of those from paycheck-to-paycheck people than from fatcats.

There are so many in Nevada because Nevada and Delaware are the the easiest states to incorporate in and no state taxes to boot.
There's probably nothing you an do about the bank, since in truth, you DID give the company your account number. You might want to lodge a complaint with http://www.federalreserveconsumerhelp.gov/ - according to that site "you can file a complaint if you think a bank has been unfair or misleading".
And you should DEFINITELY file a complaint with the FTC, as threatening to do things which cannot legally be done (arrest you for debt) violates the FDCPA, namely 15USC1692e(7).
Good luck.

Thank you and i have most definitely filed a complaint with the FTC in regards to this CA, lawfirm, or whatever they are. It's funny how 2 of the CA's that are calling me say they are associated with law firms. I have filed complaints with the FTC on both of them.
I'm really disappointed with BOA but they must be hurting pretty badly to take BACK money from someone who has been a loyal customer for over 20 years, especially siding with a company that they know is probably illegal. Oh well, it's a new day and I'm moving on. I will just sit here at work by the phone and wait for my daily call from Cash Supply
Sue your banks
Just FYI
Bank of America (WA/CA/everywhere else)
Suntrust
Wachovia
Fifth Third Bank
Provident Bank of MD
Bank of the West
Citizen Bank (East Coast/Tri-State Area)
M&T Bank
All of these banks give your information out if the caller knows your SSN + account number. Some of them allow people who have that information to TRANSFER FUNDS and I'm looking at you Bank of America.
Calling these banks is standard operating procedure for all iPDLs because they want to see how deep in the red you are and count the number of PDLs you currently have out.
