Has anyone dealt with Cash Advance Network lately? Are they legal or not?

I am dealing with them right now, they are not legal in my state. I took a loan for $300 and I owe them $120 on the principal. I just defaulted on 10/17 so I am not sure how long it will take for them to contact me. I did however receive a a computer generated email today for me to call them but I am certain it is because my payment was returned yesterday.

What state are you in?

I do not think they are but hopefully someone who knows more than me will be along to tell us for sure. I am not going to respond to the computer generated email, I will wait until one comes along that looks like it was written just for me. lol.

I would like to get this resolved though, I just want to send them the remaining principal and be done with them.

I just finished dealing with them. I'm in KY and they're not legal here either, but the information I gathered from this site is that they're not legal (someone I'm sure will come along and say for certain). I sent them the letter I found on this website numerous times and they never responded. I also filed reports with the BBB and my state's AG office and they haven't gotten a response from them either. Cashadvance Network then turned my loan over to a collection agency (this was a $300 loan which I had already paid $500 in fees so it was paid off already) which would call my job threatening me legal action, so I sent the same letter along with some email corresondance from our state Department of Financial institutions saying these loans are illegal in KY to this collection agency. The president of this agency promptly contacted me and said my account was now closed.

I am currently dealing with them and received a message from the "manager" stating "you will regret getting this loan from us." This is because I did not make the first payment after sending 10 emails asking them if I could pay 1/2 now and 1/2 the following week. Yet they NEVER responded to any emails. I received one from their customer service department stating that there would be a withdrawal on such and such date, yet that was it. They don't answer the phones and they don't respond to emails. Not sure if they are legal in Ohio or not. Don't think their business practices are legal or should be legal in any state.

Cash Advance Network is MTE Financial which is not legally licensed to lend anywhere in the US...they are 100% illegal.

I have been dealing with CAN without any response but I keep sending my letters. I owe $80 on the principle balance. Everyday I get up, reformat my letter and send it out via e-mail and fax. I've been receiving calls from ARM of FL, on behalf of CAN, but sent a validation of debt letter and a cease and desist letter and have not heard a peep from them since.

File a complaint with the BBB of Florida about ARM. I did and got a response from the BBB with a copy of a letter from ARM stating my account is now closed and they had no idea that CAN was illegal. I also complained about their collection tactics. Please file a complaint, the more that do maybe we can shut these people down. ARM is not licensed to collect in my state and CAN is illegal.

My complaint to the BBB blasted them on their tag team collection tactics. They have two accounts for me, one for CAN and the other for Paychecktoday.com and I have not heard one word from ARM again other than the letter saying me account is closed. Of course that wont stop CAN from sending it to another CA but for now no calls at all. If I had a scanner I would scan the letter and share it with you, it is pretty funny how ARM lies saying they sent me a letter and how they are professional in their collection efforts. There was always two of them on the line, usually a female first and as soon as you objected to anything she said a male would come on the line screaming!!!!!!!!!

CAN did not debit my account for 12/1. I'm leaving the money in there of course, figuring they will eventually get around to it but I am scared to call them and tell them about the missing debit. I'm not going to call them. Hoping they got shut down. I'm confused by the missing debit.

So the response of ARM of FL in regards to my complaint to the BBB of FL was that Cash Advance Network IS LEGAL ... LOL...and that they hold the "highest integrity when representing companies in attempt to collect debts" Oh boy! What a load of dog crap... I've written my response to the BBB of FL and sent it off stating, again, that CAN is illegal and that ARM of FL is not licensed to collect in my state. We'll see what happens next...

The response from ARM of FL that I received stated:
"Ms. XX states in her complaint that Cash Advanced Network is not licensed to lend in the state of Iowa and illegally gave her a loan. Cash Advance Network is an internet payday loan company. The contract Ms. XX agreed to in order to obtain a loan from Cash Advance Network states the following....."

and ARM of FL states that CAN has no record me of every contacting them even though I have the e-mails I sent to them... all 8 of them before this went to ARM of FL.

Ugh... I responded to all of it and will keep on keeping on.

I had a loan from CAN and missed 2 payments. I owe $135.00 to them and called today saying I could pay in on 1/31 and then even make another payment on 2/15 to make up for the one I missed. The man on the phone yelled at me, called me a deadbeat, said I was sarcastic and that he would just send my account to the nasty collections people. I told him I was trying to pay them and if they did not want payment then forward my account on. After hanging up I called again hoping to get a different person on the phone but he (Mark) answered again. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he said that he was it and that when I called I was sarcastic and he was just sending me onto his nasty and mean collections company...was very abusive on the phone and yelling a lot. I told him that the way he was speaking to me was inappropriate and the collection tactics were illegal, and he did not care. Totally out of line and they really need to be shut down. I was actually trying to pay them and he still yelled at me...

I am right now starting to have trouble with this company. They credited my checking account with $200.00 which I did not authorize and when I found out after balancing my checking account I contacted them right away and they said they had the paperwork with my signature (electronic) and could prove it came from my computer. I asked them to e-mail what they had and they refused. I have notified my bank not to allow them to dabit amy money out of my account and right now there is a stop on my account but the bank said they have a way ariund the stop and I have to notify the bank if they attemp to debit my account. Has anyone else had this happen to them and how did you proceed. Thank for any help I can get.

I had a loan with Cash Advance Network that was being serviced (paid down to $200.00) when defaulted on. They sent it to collections. I then set up a deal with their collections department paying half of what I owed for two periods. ($178.00 per pay period). The first payment was direct debited. The second and final one was supposed to come out on 8/1/09.
However, prior to that I received a call from collections representing them. They threatened to have me put in jail, have my credit so ruined I could not rent an apartment, talk to my employer, and contact my references. They are claiming I owe $1100. When I asked them to confirm the dates of the loan they could not produce any information except that it was in September. I never took a loan out last September. They then promised I would be arrested or worse. Needless to say I will never get another pay day loan under any circumstances. These folks are nothing but loan sharks with thugs doing their collections.

I recently stopped paying on my loan with them. Received a phone call today from them.
I asked for their mailing address which was refused and then I asked for their Pennsylvania
State Banking Department License Number. Collector said he didn't know what that was or
where he could find it. Google Pennsylvania Department of banking and search the various
entity listings, especially credit services. You will not find them, nor will you not find most all of such companies licensed in Pennsylvania. Report them to the State. Oh, by the way, the State License is to be publicly displayed in their office and the license lists the
year of issuance and the license number.

The purpose of a payday loan is to get you through to the next paycheck. If you borrow money from your own bank they won't loan to you, but you can get a cashadvance loan when you need it if you pay off the balance on your next pay like your supposed to you wouldn't be having problems!!! It's funny how everybody on here is looking for all kinds of legalities after recieving the money when needed. Just like a credit card if you make minimum payments its gonna cost you more to pay back learn how to manage your debts

Does anyone have an address for them? I got an email today stating they had been trying to reach me by phone and if I didn't call them back they would send me to collections. I have not received any calls from them...if they did call they didn't leave a message.

Tell them they are required by federal law (FDCPA) to send you a dunning letter (letter of collection) via the mail within 5 days of their first initial contact with you and you will be monitoring them to make sure they comply with the law, if they continue to call and harass you after you tell them this, file a detailed complaint against them with the FTC. Never admit to owing a debt to a voice on the phone, always ALWAYS demand documentation before ANY negotiating begins, even then, it depends on the legal status of the collection agency and original creditor.
