I have two PDL's that have both gone into collections. One has tried to reach me through my HR department today. What can I do to get them off my back, and not involve my employer? They have both debited my account to the point it is in the negative. I opened another account a while back and had my payroll deposited into the new account, so there is no money in the account they keep sending the ACH debits to. Please give me any advice you can. I simply don't have funds to pay them right now. Do you know if this could turn into a criminal matter?

The loans are with Cash America and Ace Cash Express, both store fronts. The total of both is around $1500 including fees. Also, how do you stop the fees from adding up!!! I will NEVER take out another PDL as long as I live!!!!

Do you know if in the state of TX they can come after my wages, and do you know if either of these are easy to deal with to get a payment plan? Also, should I send letters requesting them not to contact me at work...will they abide? I am really concerned I could lose my job.

Thank you for your response.

Texas is a non garnishment state for civil matters. I think they can only garnish for federal debts (child support, taxes, etc). Which a PDL is faaar from

As far as the payment plans. Your account has already gone to collections, so I suggest you call their corporate offices at this point. Maybe you will be able to set up a reasonable payment arrangement. Just explain your situation and be honest.

If they are harrassing you at work you can send them a C&D letter. However, you still need to stay in communication with them to let them know you are willing to repay the balance owed.
