Cash Jar and Auth Reversals
Date: Tue, 05/04/2010 - 17:07
Hi,
I live in MN. I borrowed $475 from CashJar in Jan of this year. They have taken over $1200 from our account since, and not one dime has went to principal. I sent them a cease and desist letter today as well as visited my bank. Unfortunately, because the dollar amount changes each time they withdrawal, my bank cannot put a stop payment on the ACH. I filled out paperwork to send back the last 60 days worth of payments to them. My bank will credit these, but I wonder how CashJar will respond? I will most likely end up closing my account because of them. I don't feel one bit guilty as I know that I have paid nearly 3 x what I originally borrowed.
I've scoured this site for information on Cash Jar. Has anyone had any luck getting their money back? I know I demanded it back from them, but it doesn't sound like I'll get it. Also, does anyone know who they go through for their ACH processor?
Thanks!

You will definitely not get your money back. You need to go ahead and close your current checking account in order to stop them from hitting your account.

why are you stating the OP won't get their money back?alot of illegal pdl's after some arm twisting do give refunds.don't talk in absolutes unless you are absolutely certain.your other point about the checking account is right, but don't be telling people they won't get their money back.you don't know that.
Me again...do you think cash jar will attempt to send the author

Yes, and once they discover you have revoked their ACH's they will probably continue to debit your account with larger amounts under a different name, this is why it's important that you CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT! CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with unlicensed lenders.
