I just wanted to pass along this info that I just received from Utah.

This is the original email I sent to them.......
Can you tell me if the following payday lender is licensed in your state? Global Payday Loan, LLC
dba/ Payday-Loan-Yes
cashnet500
e-payday-loan
4001 South 700 East #500
Salt Lake City, Utah 84107

This is their response:
Global Payday Loan LLC was registered as a payday lender in Utah two years ago. They voluntarily left the internet payday loan arena. They also operated another DBA as Cash Net 500.

Global Payday LLC was authorized by the Utah Department of Financial Institutions to offer internet payday loans only to Utah residents. Global Payday was not authorized to make internet payday loans to citizens of other states based on their Utah registration.

To the best of my knowledge they do not offer loans to Utah citizens since they surrendered their registration two years ago.

Jerry Jaramillo
Supervisor of Savings & Loans and Trusts
Utah Department of Financial Institutions

Well, I just did it.
These people have been calling me at work every day since last Friday.
I sent them a C&D back in August and have repeatedly told them in person never to call me at work.
Well, what happens when you don't comply?
I just officially filed a complaint with the PA AG's office.
If they like to talk on the phone so much, they can talk to the AG.
The message that was left today only had a man's name left and a phone number. He never even identified where he was calling from.
Too bad he was stupid enough to leave it on my voicemail and now I have a record of the call.
I never received a requested validation from them or a copy of their license to operate.
Oh well, their loss, not mine.

Be careful with this company folks. Ive been having MAJOR problems from them. calling me 7-10 times a day, leaving threatening voice messages. always a guy with a strong indian accent states his name is either Tony Williams or Daryl Brown. broken english, says he is a district attorney and wants my attorneys address to send him an arrest warant, threatens to sue me. they never state the Mini Miranda warning "this is an attempt to collect a debt", they do not tell you the call is being recorded but you can hear beeps, you can hear others in the background on the phone. they will not tell you the name of the collection agency or address. i sent the original company Global Payday Loan a cease and desist letter, sent certified mail return receipt requested. sent to the correct address, it came back undeliverable. so if they know you are sending certified mail, they will reject it and send back to you. ive never got one letter in the mail from these crooks.

These people first started calling me saying they were sueing me my loan was in collections, when that didn't work they called and said they were from the FBI I then in return told them, that was not possible and not to call me again, they continued with the calls, when they didn't get the response they were looking for, they tried anohter approach. They called and offered me a loan. The deal was, that I wire them $70 through western union, and within 45 mins I would be sent $700.00 which would be a loan that I would have 9 months to pay off. ARE THESE GUYS COMPLETELY STUPID TO THE FACT THAT I AM ON TO THERE GAME.

You need to record these calls and then file complaints with your State's Attorney General and FTC. No one should have to put up with this crap.
