Ok so I have a 390.00 balance from like 2 years ago with CashNet USA. We are filing BK in a couple of FINALLY! I've been calling around gathering all my information, so I call CashNet, they sold it, to AIS, they sold it to NCA, they sold it to CTL Associates. So I call CTL associates, what jack****!!! They say they don't have it. But the ASS**** that I talked to tells me, "Well you don't want to be on our office anyway, if it was here we would filing for a judgement for bouncing a check across state lines on Friday" I was like, "are you stupid" that has nothing to do with it, so then he says, "It a felony to bounce a check a crossed state lines" So we get in this big arguement, and the JACK**** don't even show having my account!!! OH MAN!!!

So, now what do I do? How the hell can I find out where this account is? I called back the last known collections agency which was the NCA, and they again said, we sent it to CTL.......

What do we know about CTL anyway? I'm thinking I'm going to need to call my lawyer and see if he can figure it out.

BTW CTL tells me I can't file BK on a bounced check, are they STUPID???

If you are filing bankruptcy it really doesnt matter who cashnetusa has sold your loan to or how many times it has been sold. Your bankruptcy attorney will trace it down for you. Most of the time your bankruptcy attorney will run your credit report and it will show up on there. You do have a bankruptcy attorney right? If so, they will ask you all of your outstanding debts that you are filing on, then they will trace down all the debitors. They should also contact them with a letter stating you have filed bankruptcy. Once you have filed the debitor is not allowed to contact you about the debt. All correspondence should go through your attorney.

I can't help but ask you why are engaging collection agencies
that probably have no clue about what you are talking about.
?
when I filed BK a few years ago all I had to do was list my
creditors and an estimate of what I owed and my attorney
and the courts did the rest.I didn't like filling but it got the slate clean for me.Good luck with your filling.

WhenI filed all I had to do was list who/whom the creditor was
and the attorney tracked down the address for me.Also if
CashnetUSA is one of your creditors that you are listing there
are a number of addresses'on this web site for them.Once notice of your filing is posted there is no more contact by your
creditors until you have the meeting of creditors in court.

I had an account with Cashnet USA 2 years ago, 475. Right after that I had some medical problems and, well, as you can guess lots of medical bills. I am looking at bankrupcy as well. Yesterday I was contacted by a "supposed" lawfirm. Phillips, Everett, and J ones. By the way, I can't find them anywhere. They tell me that they are investigating me, taking me to small claims court, and that they are looking into fraud charges. This all sounded a little strange so I said that I didn't know what they were talking about and that I would call them back the next day, today, after checking into it. I wasn't about to give out personal information to scamers. So I did some checking. A rep. from Cash Net USA advised me that this didn't sound right and to contact fraud support, which I did, but no call back yet.

I spoke with this lawfirm again today and tried to explain that I just wanted to make sure of everything. The woman, Mrs. Nigro, accused me of lying about speaking with Cash Net USA, said that I was just trying to get out of paying a debt, she was very aggitated and raising her voice. Can lawfirms do that?? Isn't that unproffessional?? So I hung up and called back to speak with a supervisor, just in case it was a real lawfirm. The supervisor, Mrs. Audino, had the same voice as Mrs. Nigro. But I let that slide. I explained what had just happened with her employee and tried to talk to her about this matter. She cut me off and rattled off a portion of my social security number, this scared me, and she asked me if that was correct. I said no because I don't want them having my social. Then she got defensive and started yelling just like the first woman. Saying I'm going to jail and they have recorded me saying one lie after another and this is going to court. Can they tape a phone conversation without telling you?? Isn't that illegal??

So I had enough and hung up. I called Cash Net USA, they said that they sold my account to AIS Collection Agency. AIS sold my account to Diversified Funding and their number has been disconnected. I have tried looking them up. Three different Diversified Funding Agencies, three different numbers, none of them have my account or ever did have my account. I called AIS back and the managers reply is they only have one number and that is it. No website, no address, they can't help me.

What do you do in this situation?? Does anyone know anything about Diversified Funding or this law firm, Phillips, Everette, and J ones?? I have tried looking up the firm, but all I get is one website with one page, on it is the number, and an address. You can't get into the site any further and speaking with these women gets you no where. Instead of giving you the information that you ask for they start yelling and threatening you.

I feel you pain, I'm not exactly WHO this people are that these Cash Net accounts end up with but I would guess your company and my company are the same folks...The keep telling me they are going to have my DL revoked!!! I've tried everyway I can to find info on them, I found a little on Rip off report dot com, I'm finding they use MANY different names and are breaking just about every collection law in the book, however it would appear they've been sued many times and shut down their operation and move it to be careful not to be caught!!

it is very frustrating....If I find out anything I'll let you know, my lawyer is working on it for me.

I called the state DMV today and my local police department and they both laughed! They said, now that's a new one. No one can revoke DL for something like. They said, does it have to do with your car? Does it have to do with a car accident? I said NO, they said, yes they are blowing smoke. I actually talked to someone at the state level that handles revokes!

Tonight I feel some what, great! I realize these are SCUM bags, who run from the law, however I did just file complaints with the Ohio Attorney General and the FTC, giving every stink'in detail I could, including the "website" I was told to visit in order to "prove" they had the right to revoke my DL....Might not get me anywhere, however I feel better.

Oh one very good thing, on the Ohio AG's site, it asked me to find the company I was complaining about using their phone #, so I put in the phone number and SHAZVAM!! I found:

M CALLAGHAN & ASSOCIATES 908 NIAGARA FALLS BLVD SUITE 230, NORTH TONAWANDA, NY, 14120-2000

ALL their STINK'in information to give to my Attorney... finally something went right:)

and whats funny about this whole thing to me is wasn't CashNet USA one of the FEW legal pdl's a little while back??... it's like these companies are bailing out, selling off to other comapnies, etc. because people are finally gettiung wise to the bullcrap wrapped up in them, whetehr legal or illegal... wha's ridiculous is the "collection agancies" that inherit debts rarely identify the originating pdl or offer polite and courteous communication in their "effort to collect a debt".........

and furthermore, I had 15... count 'em 15.... of these at one time, and I feel absolutely NO remorse filing bankruptcy because they ALL make it TOO easy to get fast cash and then bleed you dry, making their money back 10, 20 or MORE times over before people do what they have to in order to escape their evil clutches..... I did not start out in lifr to file bankruptcy, it was the furtherest thing from my mind, but sure betcha and damn tootin I filed bankruptcy when this proverbial CRAP hit the point of NO return... and YES, I have learned a BIG lesson and have tried to handle my debt and income ration much more sensibly from here out.
