I spoke with this lawfirm again today and tried to explain that I just wanted to make sure of everything. The woman, Mrs. Nigro, accused me of lying about speaking with Cash Net USA, said that I was just trying to get out of paying a debt, she was very aggitated and raising her voice. Can lawfirms do that?? Isn't that unproffessional?? So I hung up and called back to speak with a supervisor, just in case it was a real lawfirm. The supervisor, Mrs. Audino, had the same voice as Mrs. Nigro. But I let that slide. I explained what had just happened with her employee and tried to talk to her about this matter. She cut me off and rattled off a portion of my social security number, this scared me, and she asked me if that was correct. I said no because I don't want them having my social. Then she got defensive and started yelling just like the first woman. Saying I'm going to jail and they have recorded me saying one lie after another and this is going to court. Can they tape a phone conversation without telling you?? Isn't that illegal??
So I had enough and hung up. I called Cash Net USA, they said that they sold my account to AIS Collection Agency. AIS sold my account to Diversified Funding and their number has been disconnected. I have tried looking them up. Three different Diversified Funding Agencies, three different numbers, none of them have my account or ever did have my account. I called AIS back and the managers reply is they only have one number and that is it. No website, no address, they can't help me.
What do you do in this situation?? Does anyone know anything about Diversified Funding or this law firm, Phillips, Everette, and J ones?? I have tried looking up the firm, but all I get is one website with one page, on it is the number, and an address. You can't get into the site any further and speaking with these women gets you no where. Instead of giving you the information that you ask for they start yelling and threatening you.

Ok. Now Diversified Funding has sent my account to another agency. They don't know the name of the agency. The only information that they could give me was an e-mail address. This is rediculous. I think these agencies should notify you if your account is going to be sold. How are you suppose to resolve a debt if you can't find the agency that has your account to begin with. It's not like I just didn't pay it because I didn't want to. When I started to have health problems and lost my job I notified Cash Net USA and explained to them what had happened. From then on I have been e-mailing them monthly reports, but had told them that I was still unable to make any payments. They didn't even notify me that my account had been charged off to another agency. None of these other Collectors have contacted me, ever. But it was just confirmed that all had my correct contact information, funny huh?

The laws are pretty clear cut with collection agencies (FDCPA), looks like you're in for a long bumpy ride with various CA's. Just make sure you educate yourself on your rights, look up the FDCPA and MAKE any and ALL collection agencies who's desk your debt crosses follows the FDCPA to the letter.
Thank you.
Thank you I educated myself a little and with the help of my friend, the computer wiz, I was able to track down that law firm. It was a creditor pretending to be an investigater for a fake law firm. Which, thanks to Shazzers, I have found out that they aren't allowed to do that, it is illegal. I gave the creditor a call, taped the conversation of them saying that they were investigaters working for a law firm, spoke with their supervisor, and because of these very stupid employees my debt has been wiped clean. This creditor is also preparing to make me an offer and in return I have to sign a statement promising not to sue. I, of course, am going to consult with my lawyer, but I'm certain that this will be more than fair. My debt wasn't that much anyway.
