Hello! My name is Molly.. I have many questions but the one I want to ask now is this: Is it legal for the same payday loan place (in this case cashstar group) to hit your bank account FIVE times in one day? common sense would say that if the first $10 charge they tried to get through didn't go then the other 4 attempts, all with different amounts won't go either. My bank won't refund any of the fees either because I haven't had my account more than a year.. And I can't find any of my info for this company...I have no way to get in touch with them.. Please help as it keeps compiling-$150 daily in bank fees alone from this one payday loan company. and there are others!!!!

i am not sure if it is legal, but i know pdls often do illegeal things. what company is it from? how much was borrowed and paid back? how about the others? what state are you? answering these questions will help us help you.
also check out your state laws regarding bank accounts, i would suggest putting a hard block (deposit only) on it.

kfstaff24, it will depend on the state. Ours has a only a "two" debit limit once they know the account is NSF. REGARDLESS if you signed a contract. I asked our Compliance officer that exact question, because one of my pdl is saying the exact same thing, that I signed a contract, then I went back to the compliance officer asking that if I signed a contract does that trump the law. They said no, it doesn't trump the law. If you have a National bank I'd suggest filing with the OCC.

And if it's an illegal payday company, it's a mute point.

sometimes they can but not always. i was fine.. a debit only block also protects the money as sometimes simply closing it doesnt work because it will reopen with an ach hits. the best bet is to talk to the manager.. knowing what state and what companies can help us help her better.

Hello!! this is Molly again.. I'm sorry.. I posted another one with all the companies and the amounts and I thought that the posts would be linked. I have put a freeze on my account but the manager said it's only temporary. I live in Florida and the companies I have payday loans with are (eeek too many) CashStar group (which I can't find any info on to contact them or anything), United Cash, Nationwide, OneClick Cash,Paycheck today, Int'l Equity Group (also known as paradisecash advance), and thinkcash which is now the 1st bank of Delaware... I am sorry for the mixup...thank you for all your advice though...
