I have sent Cash Today my pdl letter stating I overpaid per my state's laws. I am in Kentucky. Internet pdl's are illegal. I paid $320.00 on a $200.00 loan. I told them they owe me $84.70. They called me (even though I sent numerous cease & desist letters) and I spoke w/a customer service rep (who I could hardly understand) who kept insisting they are based in the UK and I accepted their terms & conditions. He offered to "settle" by me paying $100.00 and they would mark it PIF. I argued I already paid $320.00 - so I would then be paying $420.00 on a $200.00 loan! I told him I do not agree with this. Apparently he is emailing me some kind of statement saying if I pay the $100 they will mark it PIF. Now - why the hell would I pay them another $100? He wants me to Money Gram it to him. What do you guys think of this? I argued my state laws with him and he argued his UK laws with me. I have already overpaid these geeks. What's going to happen if I don't pay him at all? I told him internet pay day loans are illegal in my state. He said I agreed to their terms in UK. What the???? Someone please help me!!!!

That's a common trick they pull, cannr. Don't fall for it.

Stick to your guns. If they are in the UK, they think they have no responsibility to the laws here. According to OUR laws, they HAVE to follow the laws of the state they lend into, and they have to be licensed in the state they lend into (except in a couple of states where there's a loophole that allows them to be licensed in their own state and lend into another).

Keep at them. Every time they call, insist they only communicate via e-mail or postal mail, remind them that they have violated your state laws, and that they have to abide by your state laws. Just keep reminding them. Over and over and over, if need be.

If your case is anything like mine (dealt with Rt.66 in the UK), they will eventually just stop calling. You might not get your refund, but they will eventually leave you alone.

This must be still another name for GFSIL aka Route66 funding aka BIG and more. They are a totally illegal operation out of the UK who hires Indian Immigrants to do their collecting. There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that you will probably not get a penny out of them. The good news is that because they are a totally unlicensed illegal operation, you do not have to pay them another cent and there is not a thing that they can do about it. They will call you and say they are sending the police to your job and all kinds of crap. Just tell them to shut up and go away. You can't threatent them with legal repercussion as they don't care. They are the worst of all the PDLs out there. Report them to the FTC who is very interested in there style of operation. DO NOT GIVE IN TO THESE THUGS. Do not pay them another cent. You are not bound to the laws of another country. Where would they sue you? In England? They can do nothing to you at all. They use to call me and I would just laugh at them and call them slime. They just give up after a while.

Oh, thank you guys! I was thinking pretty much the same thing, but had to be reassured. I'm not sending another dime to those creeps. However, it does tick me off that they owe me money! But whatever. Do you think I should write a letter to them telling them I do NOT agree to their terms and they are in violation of the law? I got their "settlement" email and it's basically a form letter. So what I feel as though I'm in for is more phone calls from them (even with the cease and desist letter) and hounding me for a settlement or threats. But I'm with you - no more money to them! How to I go about reporting these people like you say to? I have no clue. Any help is appreciated. You've already made me feel better and not do something stupid like send them the $100! THANK YOU!

cannr - go to the firstgov.gov website and file a complaint to the FTC. Here's the link:

https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01

I wouldn't even bother sending them a letter telling them they're violating the law - they know it, they just don't care. Don't waste the postage on it.

Just stick to your guns when they call and don't back down. Just keep reminding them of what was said above - THEY are the ones violating the law, not you. You've paid your bill - you've done the right thing - so you're done with them.

Go into the website www.ftc.gov there you will find a file a complaint link. You can send them anything you want if it makes you feel better. They will harrass you until they get your money or they realize they are wasting their time. Make them realize they are wasting their time as fast as you can. Please read the PM I am sending you.

Okay. I'm going to pretend they longer exist. LOL! Your advice is well taken. What are they going to do? Come to my house from the UK and ask for $100? I do understand that they will hound me to the ground, but hopefully I can put them off to where they are bored with trying to contact me. I'm pretty good at ignoring people until they disappear. LOL! And thanks for the ftc.gov site. I will be visiting it, for sure. You have been a great help. Knowing me, without your information, I would have sent the idiots another $100 like a goofball. Nothing like overpaying a loan by a few hundred dollars!

The only way I was able to get these creeps to leave me alone after constant calls, etc, was to file a police report with my local police dept and tell them about it. This was after them telling me they hadn't received any payments after I had been sending them monthly payments for awhile and having them tell me I owed $1000 for a $200 loan (right...)
After I told them about the PD report, the guy on the other end of the phone said "your account is cleared!", hung up and I never heard from them again.

So wonder if I just so happen to get stuck on the phone with them again (hopefully not)if I just state that they are in violation of my state laws and I have filed complaints with the police department and the FTC, you think they'll leave me alone? With luck, the answer will be yes! Because, like you all said, and I agree, they are NOT getting another penny out of me. I can't stress enough for the people on this forum that are reading through to take EVERYONE'S advice as to CLOSING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT! It was one of the first things I noticed everyone saying on here, so I did that first thing - then began negotiations with the thieves. You guys are all so knowlegeable and have such sound advice, it's awesome.

Okay. I have filed a complaint with every organization possible on Cash2Day4U, Cash Today Limited, or whatever name they are using today. So at least that's something. Meanwhile, in my mind, they are no longer someone I hve to deal with. So I'm scratching them off my LONG pdl list! Thanks for the information on Cash Today (or whoever they are today). Anyone else on here with a pdl with Cash Today or THINKING about a pdl with them, DO NOT DO IT!!!! Thanks again for helping me out. Every complaint helps, I'm sure. Cash Today can go to hell.

Got another phone call today from my "friend" Brian in the UK regarding my loan. Oh. Did I not send them a zillion CEASE & DESIST letters? Oh. Did I not argue with him just Wednesday when he wanted me to Money Gram him $100 to "settle" my loan that is overpaid? He left a message on my voice mail wanting to know where the money was! Can you honestly believe this? He told me to call him. He gives me this number to call him directly 1-877-210-9423 ext. 5909. The number that shows up on my caller ID is obviously out of the country. It is 442084922780. I guess he'll be my new voice mail "friend" every day wondering where his Money Gram of $100 is..............

I have probably already paid over $1,000 for a $225 loan. I'm just getting started on getting out of this PDL hell. I am trying to read up on all my PDLs to know what I am in for. I can't remember what info I gave them - home number and email? Do they call your employment or references if you gave them?

Oh, just to harrass them, as they are harrassing me, I ripped them a wonderful letter today. Faxed it over and also mailed it. I sent copies of EVERY piece of correspondence existing on this "loan" and the letter stated for them to READ EACH DOCUMENT THOROUGHLY and maybe they can "translate it into English and finally comprehend what I'm saying".Just for the hell of it. Oh. Also informed them of all the organizations that I have filed complaints with. Let's see what time my friend Brian from UK calls me tomorrow.........

This company left me alone once I got the complaint into the Attorney General's office. Some people have REPEATEDLY faxed letters and bombarbed the emails with the same email correspondance to the point that the company blocked their email address! LMAO! It's a great thing to turn it all around on them. LOL

Oh, I REALLY love the idea of emailing and faxing them to death! I've been doing it for this long. What the heck. I'll do it every single day. Three times a day. What have I got to lose? Nothing. And they certainly can't claim they haven't heard from me. Haaaaaaaaaa! Oh yes. My phone has been ringing and ringing today. "Decline" is all I hit. Doesn't hurt me to keep doing that. Oh, I guess Monday at work I'll stand at the fax machine and fax them all again...and again....and again.... HAAAAAA! Love this idea! My buddy Brian hasn't called yet. Hmmmm....maybe he has the weekend off and will call me Monday. Can't wait to hear from my international buddy..........
