As you know (or not) here's the story in a nutshell. I'm livid right now. Months ago, closed my bank account, pdl debits forced it open, fought to get almost $1000 of debits and NSF fees reversed, succeeded, put a total block on the account, nothing went through for months, no problems, pdl debits being rejected left and right. TODAY, I come home and there's a notice from my "old" bank that my account is overdrawn over $600 and I need to take care of it immediately. WHAT?!?!?! This is the account with the total block on it for MONTHS. 14 cents sitting in there with a total block. Okay, I freaked, called the customer service number. Found out USFastCash put through an electronic check for $560 (can you believe it????)Drove 100 mph to the bank, got the branch manager (she knows me well). Had my freak out/panic attack. Asked her "What the hell happened to my block on my account? Why did this go through?" Was told the company (5/3 Bank) recently did a "thing" (yes, this is the word used) where they took off all debit blocks off everyone's accounts! WHAT!?!?! So she put the block back on (gee, f'n thanks) and asked me if I wanted to close it out. Told her that's what started the problem. Closed it, forced open, negative, fight, blah, blah. Put a block on it, everything fine, now BAM, hit with a pdl electronic check. So she tells me the $560 was returned (of course, there was only 14 cents in there) and she took off the NSF fee and will remove the 14 cents and close it. I told her I would come back in the morning. I asked her if she could SWEAR to me it would not be forced back open like it was already (duh). No. Okay.... So she said that if it is forced open again, we will go through the process of reversing everyting again and reversing any NSF fees. Good God! I already did this! I'm reliving my nightmare all over again! This post is to basically WARN every newcomers, old member, whoever. Do not trust anyone/anything/any company. I've been fighting USFastCash for months. After battling, heard nothing. Filed all complaints. Not a peep. Now months later, on a Tuesday, they put through a $560 electronic check on my account that was supposed to have a block on it. Okay. Lesson #1. These pdl's will NEVER stop attempting to debit your account. They will lay and wait and debit again. They will not stop. Take my word for it. Lesson #2. Watch your bank even if you have a hard debit block on it. Mine was on there for months with no problems. But suddenly the "company" took off all customers debit blocks from their accounts without informing them. Of course, I am going to go around with USFastCash again. I can't do it tonight because I'm WAY to p.o'd to even attempt it. I think every word would be a curse word. I'll wait until tomorrow. And I am filing new complaints (again) with the BBB,the FTC, and my state AG so they will know USFastCash is continuing to harrass me. Can you believe this? I just want someone to learn from my experience. This is unbelievable. I'm still in shock over it all. They took all debit blocks off all customers accounts? And didn't even inform them? USFastCash waited MONTHS and then tried to slide an electronic check in. Good f'n lord. I'm sooo mad. I had to vent, but also let you guys know - watch out. USFastCash (MTE) is ruthless. And watch your bank regardless of what they do or say. This was done by the entire bank and they did not inform any of their customers. The nightmare is back and I'm reliving it all over again.....

Ahh Cannr I'm so sorry. What a way to end the week. We will get these places we just have to stick together and keep telling everybody that comes through here file with BBB and file with your AG. Sooner or later someone somewhere will get the message and champion the cause to shutdown MTE once and for all.

Thanks for your encouragement, mperez. I'm sooo ticked at USFastCash right now. If I had the money (LOL!) I would take a friggin road trip this weekend and find their ass. They all as illegal as illegal can get and they keep pulling this crap! And now the banks aren't even doing good "customer service" by informing customers that debit blocks have been removed? Ummm...that's a little IMPORTANT information that customers need to know. MTE will NOT be rid of me. I swear to goodness, I will re-file every friggin MTE pdl I have. And USFastCash is in for a blasting when I calm down. Not that they give a crap. But, mperez, these are the people that emailed me and told me over and over in BIG BOLD letters to "leave them alone". Can you believe it??? Oh my God. Then they started sending my emails back to me. What the??? Oh my God.

Thanks for the encouragement. And, regarding lesson #3 - closing your account. Yes, I know. However, at the time, I had to wait for all the hoopla to clear out (the pdl debits, the bank fees, etc) so they blocked the account (supposidly). I know to close the account. In my situation, it was not possible at the time. I got on the computer this morning & checked (after my frantic trip to the bank yesterday) and they had reversed the fees back. I now have 14 cents again. I drove to the bank again this morning (Good Lord). I got the branch manager again. I told her to close it out completely. Of course, was told again it could be "forced open" if pdl debits go through. Yeah, played that game, playing it again. So the branch manager told me she would "take care of it". Ummmm....thought it was already taken care of. It was closed in the beginning, roadwarrier (regarding your lesson #3), but forced open. Then the fight with reversing everything which made just putting a block on it necessary. I know to close my account. I did that. Now I get to play the game all over again. I told the branch manager that USFastCash is going to get that $560 returned and just try to send something through again. I stressed this. She said "she'd take care of it." Do I trust them? Hell no. I'll have to watch my closed account like a hawk every day again for months to make sure this doesn't happen again. Because since USFastCash is an MTE d/b/a - do you not think MTE is going to try putting through more debits because they think the account is open again? Hell yes. So, here we go. Around the merry go round with the bank AGAIN. And, for your information, it was 5/3 Bank that took the debit blocks off everyones accounts. So if you're a 5/3 customer and have a block on your account, I do suggest you call and verify that the block is still on there.

roadwarrier, that's why I went back this morning. Once I saw the fees reversed off and the balance back to 14 cents, I went to the bank to see the branch manager. I told her to totally close it out. However, this is how it all started! It was closed. Forced open. So now it's closed again. I'll just wait and see if it's forced open again. Lord only knows. And I told them to "keep the 14 cents." LOL. Stick it.

Cann, I'm so sorry this is happening to you. How can these banks force open an account, I don't understand it, especially if it has been linked to fraudulent activity??? Doesn't make sense!

If it has a positive balance, they should be able to close it, period. That's what my bank did for me when ameriloan tried to slip one of their paper checks through, they refunded me the NSF fee, and then closed the account. Nothing can go through now.

This is totally insane. And completely illegal, I think that you need to report this latest activity with your bank to Department of Finance with the latest bunch of sh___! What in the hell is a bank that is working for you helping those bloodsuckers stealing all of your money!!!!!! I would be livid!!! I would be screaming at the top of my lungs so loud that the next state over could here me.

Thank you all. I needed support on this one. I was about ready to go torch the bank, the pdl, everyone! My main concern, besides all the crap they put me through regarding all this for the past two months, is that the entire bank "took off all customer blocks from their accounts". What the hell? That is a huge concern of mine. So.........I will again write the corporate office another letter of complaint. This is getting soooooooo old now!

Thanks, kash! Your post is on here many times now! LOL! I wish 5/3 was like your bank. They can't promise it won't be forced open AGAIN. Hell, it's still open as we speak! Hello! It was closed over two months ago! Forced open. Closed again. Now open again. WTF???? If I have to drive there again, they're really going to have to take cover under their desks when I walk in the door! Her last words were "I'll take care of it." Ummmmmmmm........it hasn't been taken care of. Looked today. Still open. Hello! Maybe if I give her some recorded phone calls, she'll help me faster. LOL!

It is so outrageous. I am begining to hate banks, and may soon start to lobby about keeping money under your mattress. Or in my case under a chicken in the freezer. No one would look there. seriously though
it is so stupid of these banks to force open closed accounts. I mean really, people close accounts for all sorts of reasons. We do it to protect ourselves , and the banks should realize this and support this.

I know exactly how you feel because they tried it with me. I borroede $250 from them. Over a five month period, they took money out of my account whenever they felt like it. I ended up allowing them to take over $480 from my checking account before I said, "Hey wait a minute now!" I contacted the attorney general in my state(NC) and they told me to close out my checking account. Get a new account number.Do not give it to them. And sit back and be strong because they would be calling me constantly. And that is exactly what they are doing. I get at least two or three calls per week. I have been threatened that they were going to my sheriff's department because I wrote them a bad check for $450 and I am risking going to jail over this... I have asked them to write me a letter, but they won't. They know if they do that I have a paper trail. But they don't realize I am taping all of their freaking calls! They would have drained me for thousands if they could have. On top of that none of the money they took from my account went towards paying down this loan. No! It was "processing" fees! Crazy! They are crazy!

Thank you, jen! Thanks everyone! Boy, I love this place! You get so much support! Can I draft up a letter and include all your names on it and send it to corporate??? LOL! I'm getting ready to call customer service and see what the hell is going on with the account now. (Ho Hum). Then I'm sure I'll end up calling the branch manager again. (Ho Hum).

Okay. Called the bank. I actually called customer service. Since it's still showing on line. I found out that until the fees reversals "post" (which will be tonight) the account can not be officially closed. Which, yes, we all know that. This is why it is still sitting there NOT closed. So I asked him "Do you show a total debit block on the account right now?" He said YES! Finally! He said NOTHING will go through and once the reversals are posted, call the branch manager (again), tell her they have posted, and she can then totally close it out. Good Lord almighty. I'm just glad I finally got the block put back on it. Oh. Until they decide to remove debit blocks again. This is a good thing. I'll just have to check it and call again tomorrow! LOL! Like I don't have anything else to do but babysit my "OLD" bank account!

Okay! Update on the "old" bank account. I checked it this morning and saw everything was reveresed off. However, it still showed as open/active. I was just getting ready to call the branch manager and say "What the hell?". But thought I had better check first on line before I made a fool out of myself! I looked and lo and behold it says CLOSED 08/20/2007. Yay! :D Now, here's the million dollar question - How long will it be closed? It was already closed once! Oh, if I couldn't laugh............

Girl you best laugh and keep laughing. I hope that account stays closed forever. I am so thankful that my old bank does not force open closed accounts. You know Cannr, Even tho that is their policy , I still check every day to be sure. This process has taught me that no financial instituation can be trusted 100%. Their rules seem to change from time to time with no warning at all. I feel it is better to be safe than sorry

I agree. They are crazy! But at least the block is put back on/closed/whatever AGAIN! Hello! You can bet your butt I'll be on the computer as soon as my eyes open every morning checking on that account. It is showing as closed now. Well, now. LOL! I'll watch it every day for the next two months AGAIN (ho hum). And, this weekend is going to be my "complaint" weekend. I'm not looking forward to it. So much work! But I'm including a complaint regarding what the bank did. Not just to me, but to all their customers. And it caused problems for me, let alone anyone else it happened to. So....... we'll see! I'll be on here checking every day before I even get my coffee! You gotta catch this stuff quick or they claim "it's too late to do anything". Another crock of crap!

Guys, you're not going to believe this. The bank account.......it's open again. I'm so disgusted I'm running out of energy to fight it. I checked on line this morning (being a hawk) and it is overdrawn over $300. Apparently another debit came through, forcing this account open AGAIN. Since it was so early, I emailed the branch manager. I'm so tired. I'm being serious. This was closed/blocked again (for the second time) just Monday. It is now Wednesday and it's back open again. This will be the THIRD time I'm playing games with this same account. I'm growing weary. Honestly. When is this account going to go away? It's been closed twice already. And here we go again. This is the third time my "closed" account is open with a negative balance. I just had to inform everyone. This is never ending. I can't get rid of this friggin account. And I'm nearing the end of my rope regarding it. I can't live every day checking this one account and emailing and calling the branch manager, going into the bank every day, etc. I just can't do this anymore.

I am so sorry to hear this. I know this is so very horrible for you. What in the world is your bank up to??? Evidently someone is not doing their job correctly. You should not have to go through this every week. Why did it work before and not now?? Can you try to deal with another branch and see of you receive better service. I have dealt with different branches of my bank and have gotten very different responses for the same issues. ...just a thought. You are an amazing person who fights for what she believes in...don't give in!!!

Thanks, guys. I'm so exhausted just by this bank thing. I just don't understand how long this can keep happening. It's been CLOSED. Twice! What the? Goudah, what can I tell them to get my point across that this is getting really stupid now and it's been forced open every time I close it? I know they can prevent this from happening; however, they're not. I can't deal with it any longer. I'm thinking I'm going to be 90 and still have this one nightmare account open/close/open/close. What the hell? When I left the bank, I was assured it was blocked and closed. I then called customer service to verify this. They verified this was correct. I checked on line and saw it said CLOSED. I even emailed my branch manager and thanked her for her assistance in closing the account (again). Then today - Boom - there it is open and overdrawn. I'm getting depressed here. The $300 was apparently a debit amount (gee, told you they'd try again). They haven't put the NSF fee on yet, as this just happened at midnight last night. So I'm expecting a NSF fee to show up probably tonight at midnight. What do I have to do to get this OCC involved? What is the OCC and what do I need to do? I'm at my wits end. Thanks.

I totally know what you are going through. I swear, dealing with my bank was worse then dealing with my pdl's. It took me forever!

This account needs to be closed for good. Obviously you can't count on the bank to do this for you, so you need to get the regulatory agency involved to help make the bank do their job.
