Success:
Got 3 loans written off...one still owes me a ton, but hoping that my complaints will push them to pay me back.
Agreed to 2 loan repayment plans (these were CSOs) although ThinkCash still calls daily even though I put it in writing what my plans were.
Added 6 phone numbers to my call blocking list...LOVE my quiet cell phone! LOL!

Fail:
CashDirectExpress/GECC - refuse to let it go...paid $530 on a $400 loan
MyNextPaycheck - threatening to turn over to consumer agency...paid $420 on $350 loan
CashNetUSA - not lenient in repayment terms, having to resort to default and I am requesting settlement - over 18 mos period, paid $20K on $10K borrowed...SICK.

Unknown:
LoanPoint USA - sent a couple of emails asking to me to call so that we could "resolve" the issue. I sent reply back like this:
"I realize that you are doing your job, but I do not negotiate with unlicensed payday lenders. The state of Texas in requires licensing for the business model "Payday Lenders", without the proper licensing a payday lender is NOT entitled to interest and fees, so it’s your mistake.

Please mark my account “Paid in Full” AND send a refund on the amount of $1256.00 via address below in the form of a cashier's check within 3 days. If a refund is not issued I will be forced to contact the Internet Crime Complaint Center-in affiliation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as well as BBB and the Texas Attorney General’s Office and provide them with a detailed report of your illegal business activities. Be advised that I am not a patient person. Please respond accordingly."

Never got a reply back...not sure what this means, but I paid $1656 on a $500 loan...SICK.

So that is my update in a nutshell...2 weeks after closing my bank account.

Nice to see your successes. Good luck with the others. I'm a little confused by your statement regarding Think Cash. They are not generally a CSO, rather they are a bank-backed installment loan. Are you saying you worked out a payment plan with them that they accepted but they still call and bug you every day - or is there something more to it?

Yes, I lumped them into CSOs because I have to pay them back regardless. And I have a hard time hearing on the phone, and I felt that the email communication should have been enough to seal the deal, but nonetheless, they keep calling and they even told me to go to a TTY location to call them. I thought it was rude especially since I HAVE been communicating with them. Why is there a need to talk on the phone??

I had a similar issue with an EPP agreement with a CSO. The guy actually told me, unless you give me a debit card or credit card number, regardless of our agreement, the collection calls will continue. I just stuck to my agreement (which I had in writing so I felt pretty confident) and ignored their calls.
