I have threatening phone calls coming from another company who supposedly bought my loan that I had not finished paying off from Mypaydayloan.com. I am being threatened with they are sending papers to file check fraud charges to my district attorney in chesapeake on Monday morning. Then they tell me to call the plaintiff at 866-271-1568. It all sounds like a scam but can they charge me with check fraud? I found out that online payday loans are illegal in Virginia?

They are scammers mate. They are just trying to scare you. Don’t worry, they can’t do anything. File a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC immediately. Don’t share any personal information with them.
