meaning I have to get a lawyer because I will get a citation in the mail to appear in court. I am scared and don't know what to do. I tried to call the collections agency and noone is there. THis is for checkngo, i live in WA, amount is 1700 I think.
I cannot set up PA with them they told me to just wait to hear from my county and I will be in public records. :(

sounds like CHECK RESOLUTION SERVICES.they are a bottomfeeder.they invoke the CHECK-N-GO name alot.saying they are sending you to county implies arrest.debts are civil matters.when they call again inform them that you will not speak to them again until you receive something in the mail.they will not send it to county or anywhere.that is a scare tactic an illegal CA uses to get you on the phone to threaten and harrass.

Hi Paul. I asked for the phone number to the colletions agency and they said they cannot give it out. instead they gave me this number 18004544603 and I called them back and the company name is nations. I spoke to another rep and he said he saw my file.

can this be true?

That call you received was from CheckNGo directly or a CA? It might be a possible scam as Paul stated.

CheckNGo is licensed in most states. They probably turned your defaulted loan over to a CA. Now the CA is harrasing you. Get the information from the CA and send the a debt validation request letter. You stated someone refused to set up a payment arrangemen, who?

I called the 1866 number just a min ago to see if there would be some recording.. and what I heard was
" Mrs j*** is not available, please leave a message at the tone"

If this was a business would they have that kind of answering machine? they said they were based out of Buffalo NY

If they do not send you a letter in the mail detailing the alleged debt, I would assume it is a scam and act accordingly. File a complaint with the FCC, the FTC, and your state Attorney General's office.

And this one is rather weird. I looked up the phone number and found only one complaint board with 3 notations of the #. Someone mentioned National Processing on it. I look up NP, and it is a merchant processing company (part of First National Bank of Omaha) and no New York location, and that phone # is not to be found on their website at all. So I will think it safe to assume that it is a scam and/or a phishing expedition and if they have your private info, I would file a police report for possible identity theft (and see my 1st link on my sig.) and file those complaints. NP is on the stock exchange and has been around since 1979 so I doubt that they would succumb to such blantantly illegal tactics.

Right now it is 530 am my time. I called that number once again. I pretended to be someone else... they asked if i was ***** and I said No, they said what number are you calling from? I made up a number, then I said didn't I call the right number, they said yes. Then he asked me if I knew Ire*** hi*** i said no, then he hung up on me.

It's weird because I blocked my number before calling and it seem like he knew my number and name. he even called me back. I looked them up using what you have posted and added division to the end of it.. and a bunch of scams came up for them.. however, it's nothing like what some had mentioned. This is one where they know all my info. I will def report them...
