I am working (slowly) to pay off my internet pdls (illegal or not, I am trying to pay off the principal and fees and tackling them one at a time); I've paid off two so far and have three more to go.

In addition to the internet pdls, I have two loans from Check 'n Go and Advance America. I expect to pay off the Advance America loan in full at the next payday. The Check 'n Go loan, however, is providing a bit more difficult.

When I called Check 'n Go, the person stated that Ohio does not offer EPPS and that I would need to refinanace my loan. I was unable to do that last payday because the original loan was provided when I lived in another state. Per the rep's advice, I paid that loan and took another (stupid, I know) in Ohio. When I called Check 'n Go again to discuss an EPP or refinancing, I was told this was not possible.

Because the information I receive continues to be conflicting, I am even more confused and feeling even more overwhelmed than when I started. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but won't ever get to it unless I get some answers.

I love this community and while I'm sorry a need for it exists, I'm glad you're here. I've continued to pay all fees (sometimes just the service charge) and am not in default with any of the loans. I am primarily interested in how to extend my Check 'n Go payments.

Advance America is legal in Ohio, but I'm not sure about Check n Go. I searched the license database for Ohio "http://elicense2-lookup.com.ohio.gov/default.asp" and did not find Check n Go in the list and so I think they are illegal. So you need to pay them only the principle amount borrowed.

Check n Go is legal in Ohio, in fact they are based out of Mason, OH! I am 99% positive that they do not offer the EPP in OH because they have switched to a new installment product and do not offer a "PDL". I would suggest that you contact the Corp Office in Mason and try to make arrangements. Also, try to avoid the Collections Dept and try to speak with someone in Operations.

Ok - now I am worried. I had taken out two storefront loans approx 2 years ago - cash n go for $700 and cashnow - also for $700.
My boyfriend was laid off from work and still is - so my income is all that we have - he is able to get side jobs from time to time, nothing steady, so I am paying all the bill. Of course, my story in no different than anyone elses in this economy...everyone is just getting by...right? I'm so glad to have a website like this to be able to talk and get information..although my money problems are no better since I joined the other day - it is good to have someone to talk to and to here that there is hope to get out of this situation!
So back to my question...what should I do about my store front loans? I havent heard from them in the past years - although I dont really answer calls from anyone that I do not know either so they could be one of the collectors trying to get a hold of me. But I do want to prevent anything from getting into a legal issue. Any ideas?

So, your loans have been in default for almost 2 years? Also, you have not spoken to either in a substantial time?

If the answer is yes to both of these questions, let a sleeping dog lie for now. You do not have the income to make any payments due to your BF's job situation, so keep on him to get a job and then call them to make arrangements.
