Help! I am in SC. I have four loans. Check N Go $600. Chextop $300. Carolina Pay Day $300 and Check into Cash $300. They are all storefront places. I closed my checking account yesterday. I am unable to continue making the payments. Are these places all licensed? What do I do next? Write a letter stating I want to communicate e-mail and mail and not to phone me, work and references? Thank you for your advice!

Store front lenders are usually legal, as these are. Click the link below to see if any of your lenders are members of the CFSA (Community Financial Services Association of America), http://www.cfsa.net/MemberList.aspx. If they are, and it appears some are, they would have an EPP in place, (Payday advance companies that adhere to CFSA Best Practices). Just because their name isn't on the list doesn't mean they aren't members, one way to find out for sure is to call them and ask, or check out their website to see if there are any banners which state they are members of the CFSA.

Click the link below to read about the EPP, number 11.

Thank you! I reviewed the information. I am composing letters today stating not to contact my work, references or me. I will communicate with them via mail and e-mail for accurate records. I am going to state the amount I loaned and the amount I have paid them and that I want to settle this matter quickly via extended payment plan. One of them, I have overpaid - Carolina Pay Day. I am going to request that they consider it paid in full and request a refund for overpayment. I wonder what will happen with that?

I just don't want them contacting my work or references. You have to put very accurate information and they check!
