I have recently posted concerning my payday loans here in Texas. I found out that CK Marketing formerly paydayonline is not licensed here in Texas. Yesterday I sent them an email & letter stating that I have overpaid and they should issue a refund, do not debit anymore, etc. Today they called and left me a voicemail that they have sent a levy to my employer to garnish my wages.

Should I be concerned or is this just another scare tactic?

That is what I thought but I knew I could calm my nerves by asking you all! If they get a court order, wouldn't I be contacted in some way shape or form of the order?

I have not received anything in the mail from the company at all! They are just getting very upset at this point and I sent my first letter yesterday via email stating that I would not be paying a dime more & that they could send me a refund via my mailing address! I will send them the same letter with a breakdown of all I have overpaid tonight.

I would file a complaint with Texas Attorney General's Office. CK Marketing aka paydayonline is a complete rip-off. I had a payday loan out with them, and paid over $510 on a $200 loan before I became smart. I closed my bank account, wrote them the cease/desist letter and asked for a pif and refund. They sent my employer a levy to garnish my wage also. Thank goodness my employer is really great, because she wrote them back and told them that she would need a court order to garnish my wages and until she got that, it would not happen. I filed a complaint with Ohio Attorney General's Office and the FTC (because of threatening calls that I have taped).

Did they ever send you a refund or a PIF letter? They are getting very aggresive calling a few time a day now. I work for a University and in Texas. Garnishing my wages will be difficult for them. Texas will not allow garnishment for outstanding debit (THANK GOODNESS) Since I work for a University they do everything they can do to cover themselves when it comes to things like this so I think I'm safe there too.
