Let me start off that I have had bad experience with pay day lenders years ago and have climbed out of that black hole. I came away clean and havent looked back since then. It was quite a lesson learned. With this back story, I chose internet pay day lenders and the consumer protection for this research paperwork I am doing. With a sinkin feeling in my stomach knowing how those predators can be but well armed with knowledge. No intentions of taking out any pay day loans...I'm past that.

Ok, I have started googling up pay day lenders I have entered info at the East Side Lenders website and pressed submit, using an internet phone number for contact and all. Yes, I have precautions put in place and fake information entered in some spots to protect my identity.

Lo behold, I started getting calls from this number 760 990 1458. The guy named Dominic Jones. The operator told me he had a heavy foreign accent (I am hearing impaired so I was using three way relay service). He started off on a nice note then eventually started threatening when I requested his legal id, his full name, address of this stated law firm, and the supposed loan I took out. He got angry and said I owed 282.64 to Cash Network. He then stated I need to check my email for the "signed contract" and documentation. I told him I have never took out a loan with Cash Network. (Keep in mind, I m doing a research and did not take out ANY pay day loans)

Hell broke loose....threatened me with jail time, "God Bless you", that I will be in courtroom with my employer because I am a liar, expect an arrest warrant at my house tomorrow morning, blah blah blah. I have told "Dominic" that him contacting an employer is impossible because I am self employed and there is NO employer. I asked him to verify the employer which he did (a fake co i entered when I submitted an application at East Side Lenders). Which proved this whole thing is nothing but a scam.

I then thanked him kindly for his contribution to my research and that I will be submitting the info I have gathered from this phone call to the appropriate authorities (FTC, FBI internet unit, and SS). He fumbled and got all pissy. Hung up.

DONT BE FOOLED! They phished the info from the applications we may ve submitted at most online pay day lenders. So, please be aware when you try to apply for applications that most of the time, our information shared is NOT safe.

Side note: There is a real C. Williams and Associates law firm and I spoke with them right after I hung up with this a**hole, I was told the real law firm have filed complaints against the fake C. Williams and Associates "operating" out of california). C. Williams and Associates that have been calling you is bunch of frauds. Be wary. Do not freak out.

I have to say this research is very empowering for me. First because I was a victim of those antics years ago and now I know better, I can fight back. It is with hope that my research paper can be used for better consumer protection for all of us.

If any of you have any experience with this C. Williams and Associates collection, please do share!
